so basically this was the dialogue in the GGG office:
chris: lets make a little change to crit multi so people that suck with math could understand because hey, its fucking hard to multiply with 1.5!
random guy: but what about the people with already existing items with crit multi?
chris: they can reroll with blesses or divines!
random guy: but what about guys with perfect stats on items?
chris: well i guess they will have to use more divines.
random guy: and what about people with mirrored items?
chris: fuck them i guess
random guy: but isnt it simpler that we just multiply the crit multi on items that should be changed by 1.5 so people dont have to lose their good items?
chris: you know what, fuck you too, smartass. consider yourself fired!
This. So much this. If they just wanted to nerf the effectiveness of crit multi, fine, I wouldn't have said a word honestly (and I run a crit build). But I just bought Shadows and Dust (near perfect rolls) and a near perfect Abyssus which now have to be re-rolled with divines (and Abyssus isn't worth trying to reroll at .5 exa each time)...
My question is... why? What was the purpose? Because some people didn't understand how to do the math? No shit, people can't do the math on a lot of things on this game which is why you have players with 80% accuracy and 95% crit chance (stupid). Don't punish me because other people can't figure out a simple concept. This is one of the weirdest ways to change that problem I can think of.
And of course, fuck the people with legacy perfect facebreakers etc. They don't get to divine so I guess sorry for the nerf, but at least someone finding a new item will have an easier time figureing out the crit multi! =\
The rest of the changes in this patch are good, but this one is just straight up horrible.
i have a similar problem with abyssus and facebreakers :( and its a goddamn legacy facebreaker :( i have it just for the crit multi, the fact that its 990+ unarmed doesnt matter. but now i cant even sell it because of this :(
but this can still be fixed, just roll the items on the "white list" yourselves, shouldnt be hard to do, GGG :(

its not a nerf to crit multi its an increase in the visible values available. get it right ppls.
all legacy are 33% less effective if they do not reroll. when u reroll they will get a 50% increase in value.

If you reroll they are not legacy any longer so this is not an option. Also, most items have a WIDE array of values, like my Abyssus helm. Sure, I might hit a perfect crit multi roll when I divine it... but I'll also likely get 47% more phys taken vs my current 40%/near perfect crit roll.
I like the guy above's suggestion to change the word but not require currency for us to manually do it.
If my item currently has 100% crit multi change it for me to have 150% addition multi and we are good; my item isn't broken, I don't have to waste divines (I don't have any), and I won't brick the other stats.
No idea why they implemented it this way if not as to kick the nuts of standard players.

thanks! ♥
yee i thought that would be the most painless for players!
so maybe they wanted to nerf maligaros...or some other item! and okay sure, if they think it needs to be nerfed, its their decision. but i dont wanna be collateral damage of some "rework"! not like its hard for them to do that :( if abyssus and facebreakers are meant to not be nerfed, then GGG itself should change the values on them, not make us do it...
this is why i prefer just doing hideouts...at least that will never get nerfed :(

no, because they wanted to nerf the effectiveness of crit multi, thats the point.

its a nerf to crit multi, the vast majority of items including all rare items will not get 50% increase if divined, they are simply nerfed.

these uniques have gone legacy for the same reason every legacy unique has gone legacy. Is this really still an issue? 3 years and we still havent got to the point where we are over the idea of legacy uniques and how they work?

Sadly this is the real core of the issue. Nerfing crit would be ok BUT taking a shit on peoples mirrored or corrupted gear is beyond unfair. This has to be one of the biggest "players fuck you" moments in the history of gaming!

i addressed this as well! its their choice which items to nerf and i will accept that decision. but if they literally said that some uniques can be divined, it means those uniques arent meant to be nerfed! for example abyssus, its on what i call the "white list"
and since its not meant to be nerfed, its gay as shit to make me get a new one (cause one does not simply divine an abyssus), they should instead change the crit multi themselves, because they fucked up an item that they explicitly said isnt meant to be fucked up

great patch love the new content. not sure about the perandus coins but will try it out, hope its a good way to get a levelling unique when you actually need one :)
patches/nerfs look fine as well. not sure why people are surprised, every couple of months they have been done the same way.
want the skill tree to plan out a build.. :)
have finally gotten used to the lab... I dont hate it anymore.:)
