Just to add to the OP there are some melee in the game that deal Chaos damage as well, in the area around Alira most of the sword n' board guys melee with added chaos damage. So it isn't just a ranged thing.

deceptionist, I completely know where ur coming from and agree with mostly everything u said, but u have to realize that being calm objective and rational for the sake of it is just as flawed as the op and his defenders passionately defending their pride instead of actually thinking clearly and objectively. u are in effect basically doing the same thing. u just believe a calm stance is more right than a prideful one but they are both ultimately just stances. truth is the absence of them.
