Path of Exile 2.4.0: Atlas of Worlds Patch Notes

Why GGG don't want to nerf overpowered skills like BF and BV like they did with CoC?

Another guestion for another thread is why GGG hates Meelee so much?

But maybe they will nerf them too in 2.5 :P

Once again the no life streamers manage to ruin the game for the casual players.
LOL

My build is completly broken now, just nerfed almost all mechanics i use.

using kingsguard for gain
Mjölner triggers only 1 spell - 50 % less damage, 50 % less gain
unrelenting gives only 30 % chance - 30 % less damage, 40 % less gain
=> won't have always be at max endurance charges - about 20-30 % less damage mitigation overall + slightly reduced damage
dicharge deals 35 % less damage when triggered
and mjölner will have a cooldown

=> total: less than 1/4 damage, less than 1/4 defence even without the cooldown issue

=> totally broken build

Well of course these juggernaut dischargers were nice, but not that nice to be nerfed that way. There were many builds that had higher dps and higher sustainability and they aren't nerfed. For example essence drainers, or vortex. Reach of council builds hat a comparable dps while standing out of danger and only nerfed by about 25-30% of damage. And I can tell you, there will even be More Reach of Council builds because many players will now just use added chaos on them, will be almost as strong as before and way easier to deal with reflection. And they know, it won't be nerfed again.

Reach-tornado shot-added chaos-poison-slower proj-void manipulation-pierce or something like this - will kill almost every pack with 1 shot + high dps against bosses. When playing assassin the dps will even be higher than most common melee build can reach. It's just that easy with bow builds at moment. You don't have to think, just overpowering everything with poison and some movement speed to stay out of danger. Highest clear speed, close to highest sustainability, no brainer. Yust run, click-kill, run.

It's like usual you see a build coming up and just destroy it in every possible way. Just calm down, one nerf is usually enough. And you don't look sideways, there are so many builds that were already as strong as the yuggernaut mjölner build you nerfed even before it came up. Juggernaut dischargers have a huge down: They have do stay in dangerous areas, so they have eather high dps, high defence or high clear speed (movement). They can't have all, like many bow builds actually have. Don't look always only on the DPS, close combat is still the most dangerous thing in the game and you continue to nerf all these builds more than ranged. I can't understand why.

Instead you should a) reduce damage dealt from distance and b) increase damage taken when in distance and c) increase damage you can't avoid by just moving around. If you don't do all these things, almost every engame (T15 bosses) viable build that doesn't costs 1000 exalt will be ranged (and most of them bows), just because it's how the game is actually designed. Why bow is the best? Because when using p.e. tornado shot you can see everything tha happens, for example bearers, the animation is so decent you just can see everything else - if you go p.e. spark - you just don't see what happens - you can't react. So bows are just OP actually, in almost every possible way.

It's no wonder ziggyd and most other you can see on youtube mostly use bow builds (or other ranged builds with comparable skills like essense drain or vortex). You should consider why. And I can tell you it's just because you can reach almost the same dps while you can stay out of any danger. This must be fixed. At moment they are just the most powerful in the game. You can stay out of danger and the dps, expecially against bosses, is often even higher than in other builds (for example because of poison, its really easy to make a poisonous bow attack - but really hard to make another skill high poisonous, the usable more damage supports that have double effect are almost all perfectly designed for bows (pierce, slower proj., faster proj. ...). Please let other builds envolve to be comparable. Not every player wants to play an archer, just because it's OP atm.
I just wish sometime soon GGG abandons that model they base their "balance" on.
I mean create powerfull skills item and then destroy them.
And that inconsistency with gear going legacy.
This isn't the product of attempts of balance, but fooling the players again and again.
They leave broken skills and mechanics for too long and then they just make them worthless and replace them with others.
Coc was very nice as a concept, you could tone it down to be easy on your server and have lower dps,not make it worthless.
I guess now will we have a smooth gameplay because there will be no skills to cause frame drops..
Really great tactic...
Finally a (multiple) reasons to quit this game. Time to regain my real life. Thanks GGG!
Glad they nerfed the op stuff and buffed monster life (hopefully significant amounts!)

I really don't like that clear speed is almost only capped by movement speed. It'll definitely help in the long run if bosses live long enough for players to see at least what they are supposed to do instead of being instantly killed by some mines ...
Effects which trigger when you use a skill will only trigger when you initially start channelling

Does channeled skill will apply stuck effect when mana being consumed?
I mean: Wither and its secondary effect!
If i press button and hold, will it apply stuck effect each time when mana taken (0.5ms for example), OR I need press button many times to get STUCK effect?

Havent played prophecy a lot because of silly league mechanic(who do even go back to normal zones to get league content ffs), and also because of a few nice builds to play, in Atlas will be even fewer nice builds to play.

HOW U CAN EVEN IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT A COC?

Quit game, no more support from me GGG, gl with your Path of Nerfs and tons of hamsters in a wheel named "FRESH ECONOMY CHALLENGE LEAGUE"

Also rewards for essense league TOTAL CRAp, who do even tryhard to get 36 challenges to cossplay Ice golem?

Dude you havent supported anything lol. Have fun XD. Also, calm down people, good way to get stomach ulcers being upset about changes you do not understand.
Mjoner build had its time, move on.

Let's not turn this into a dik swinging contest, you are so proud of the little icons on the forum. You must be very proud.
mostly positive stuff in the notes, threads turned into a bit of a clusterfk but to be expected I guess.

I think just about every build I play costs more than it would take to make a triggered discharger who could do the same content but it just always seemed boring as hell (personal opinion), broken and just unhealthy in terms of cost and expectations. Im surprised it took this long for them to destroy it, same with frostwall, but its been on the cards since they first existed, blatantly, anyone could see that.

Eq nerf... well its not catastrophic but by essentially balancing 2h melee within 2h melee alone you have now left 2h melee comparatively underpowered against the content. Before it was melee is ok (imo), because theres a few skills that stick out in the bunch and they can compete with bows and spells. Now youve essentially taken away the only thing a 2h could do that made it worth doing when you can just play, well, anything else basically.

So cool that melee has more balance between the skills, I do think thats a great thing, but no change to volatile blood (seriously, when?) and 2h melee are essentially in a worse place than they were before this patch. So all that talk of melee sucks, melee needs help, thats probably going to get worse, and theres going to be more people saying it, I dont think youve 'fixed' melee for anyone already of that opinion.

The reave and frostblades buffs are a little baffling. In my opinion those 2 skills are better than EQ already. Ok, if you didnt touch reave or fb, and with lacerate you completely removed the less attack speed, I still think reave would be the best skill of the 3. But you buffed reave more than lacerate from what I can see? errrr.... ? Reave is the best melee skill in the game and it got buffed more than other melee skills which were so shit they are essentially unplayable, and theyre still not playable after the small buffs they got. Theres more balance in the melee skills from a 2h point of view but Im not sure whats going on with 1h skills tbh.

Cleave: 19% more damage, Reave: 12% more damage. If this read Cleave: 50% more damage, Reave: no change at all, then I might even be tempted to play cleave. Might. Well, Reave got a buff and fb got a buff so essentially melees crit dagger top end got buffed, its not a negative patch for 'melee' its just a net negative for 2h melee in my eyes.

Im probably going to play exclusively 2h melee next league, see what state relics like groundslam are in, how silly the new bosses are from that perspective.

GGG nerfs are kinda ridiculus. Nerfing Chieftan ability to gain max end-charges, from 100% to 30% is a joke. I can agree 100 % is to easy, but 30% will make it to unreliable.
Why not make it 70% or so. Then players can still trigger it reasonable often, if they have multiple sources for trigger, and its still a usable skill.

Why is it lately that nerfs turn skills and items from godly to useless, rather then tune them for better gameplay. Getting abit dissapointed how this game is developing.

With Regards Fingalf.

I think the aim here is to prevent you from getting 100% max endurance charges for little/no investment, either in terms of playstyle or Sockets. Something like a Endurance charge on Melee Stun+ Leapslam or Ripost will net you Max endurance charges instantly totally automatically. Whereas Enduring cry will get you Max endurance charges but you actually need to make a slight adjustment to your playstyle to use it
