1)COC is not a melee build, at best you can argue PSEUDO melee.

2)Except for the tornado, every other build you mention has been nerfed.

After patiently reading the 2.4 patch notes, here my thoughts about existing skills that need to be fixed and still hasnt.

A) First of all, fix the need to forcibily tag monsters with many melee skills unless you use multistrike or floor target melee skills (EQ, sunder, icecrash...). Tagging one by one simply isnt practical, thats why most of melee users use floor tag skills.

B) Fortify support gem must be MORE instead of INCREASED to make it more desireable (despite it could have a smaller multiplier).

C) Melee needs better protection against 1-shoots that were hard to see and avoid, mainly spells, maybe through fortify buff.

D) EVA based chars need a fair protection against unavoidable physical spell damage.

E) Summon Skeletons need lots of love.

F) Spectre summon mechanics need to be fixed.

G) Fluid motion of movement skills is bad and maybe game needs better collision maps.

After some reading - I'm happy with nerfs. Just PLEASE nerf all bow damage by.. say.. 80%. And all spells by 70. Then it would be perfect. No joke even - END GAME would be well.. END GAME that 2% of playerbase could ever dream of - and 0.2% actually do. Like in old old games..

Static strike is boring as the skill feels like it has no impact when attacking. Reeve, lacerate are basically the same skill. Ice crash'es reduced attack speed (dumb) is annoying, as is anything that reduces movement speed or attack/cast speed (actually those mechanics are simply 'unfun' in any circumstance.

I know new content means more supporter packs released, but GGG really needs to spend time doing QoL improvements, and part of that is coming up with better mechanics then more life, less damage. There are better ways to balance and more enjoyable mechanics.


Earthquake was nerfed in wrong way, that's was my first impression.
When EQ was announced, it was intended to be a skill, that strongly favours slow attacks (being much better than any other skill for that), but with fast attacks, it will be junk.
But in fact, EQ was great even for fast attacks.
EQ damage nerf touched Aftershock damage only, thus reducing EQ "unique behavior" even more.

How the proper nerf should be done? It should decrease EQ base damage and add attack speed penalty, but also increase aftershock damage (aftershock AoE nerf is still OK). So, EQ will remain to be good for what it was intended to be, but also wont be cookie-cutter for everyone.

P.S. Those 5-20% damage buffs to various melee skills and melee spelash will change NOTHING. GGG, you should add SERIOUS buffs (i mean, something like "Heavy Strike now deals 100% more damage"), or serious gameplay changes - or melee will remain a noob trap.

I haven't played in idk how long, months?

Looking at the notes I see Zana is getting a new voice, idk why, but I'll have to check that out.

Also, shaper of desolation is getting a stupidly gimmicky overhaul which pretty much ruins any fun I had as an elementalist. Remind me again why that ascendancy exists?

I doubt I'll log in any time soon, but its cool that they decided to let you just fill your HO with masters now.
