is that why the almighty kripp's password was cracked by james in 30 secounds?
a passwrod that he said scored 90% on what james said was a trusted testing website?

educate me on that please, cause unless i make a new 2,000 char password like kripp james can just crack my pass in 30secs.
Does krip stream his email address? Because half of the security of email address and password is email address.

no he does not, but honestly how hard is it to get someone's email?? lol especially for someone like james? ( and im sure there are more james out there, and ppl even better than him)

LOL, you're so full of crap. So you're saying I won't ever see Kripparrian's email address watching his stream? I know I can because I HAVE seen it. If he's EVER logged into PoE during a stream, it's on the screen.

Also, link the video of this hacking, somehow I doubt you will.

Sometimes I think there's an intelligent discourse about to happen on the internet, but this notion is always shattered by people like you. It is the internet, after all.

No, I don't subscribe to Kripp, I watch him from time to time, but usually only when forced. And I'm watching the video now, a few things to note:

Password complexity is important (his video makes this kind of obvious).

His password wasn't cracked in PoE, but in a separate program, so it makes it rather irrelevant.

Communicating across the internet will slow that process down. A lot. Like thousands of folds. Good luck getting away with sending the millions of passwords across the internet to brute force a password without raising some eyebrows (GGG has flagged accounts for this and disabled them because of this).

James knew his email address, so he had half of the security broken up front.

Sometimes I expect complete morons to show up on the internet. Oh, there you are.

You obviously have no background in security. At all. Because this is security 101.

That said, even knowing the email address, like I mentioned above, good luck brute forcing a password. It's simply not happening over the internet in this game.

1) So, in your view, security 101 is pure obfuscation? As long as you hide your safe in your house, why bother locking it? Relying on your email address being unknown to an attacker as a mode of sec is asinine.

2) If you had bothered to read any of my posts in this thread, you'd not find any mention of brute forcing a password.

3) You appear to know only enough about this topic to scratch the surface. Your arguments thus far when it comes to "evidence" that no hacking is taking place has been:
* Circumstantially, no high-profile users have reported incidents of compromised accounts
* Man in the middle attacks are impossible because of encrypted datagrams
* Maphax r bad
* Users are stupid

Very well done - everybody is quite impressed by your mastery of software security.

I suppose I'll rejoin this thread when it appears you've gone to sleep. This doesn't appear to be headed in a positive direction.

Security 101 is email address + password = 2 parts, giving away one part is losing half of the equation. Feel free to act all high and mighty about it, it's that simple ANYONE with any security background knows this.

Man in the middle attacks, while possible, aren't happening in this game. Keep dreaming. Well, maybe on a few shady ISPs, but not to the broad range of victims.

Keep crying, you're good at it. Deny, deny, deny... I'm guessing that map hack didn't work, eh?

Its funny how you keep spouting "Deny, deny, deny", when you're constantly denying that anything other than user stupidity could be the cause of the hacks.

Anyway, I better stop feeding the troll. You probably dont actually believe the crap you're spouting yourself, so why bother.
