That said, even knowing the email address, like I mentioned above, good luck brute forcing a password. It's simply not happening over the internet in this game.

Security 101 is email address + password = 2 parts, giving away one part is losing half of the equation. Feel free to act all high and mighty about it, it's that simple ANYONE with any security background knows this.

Man in the middle attacks, while possible, aren't happening in this game. Keep dreaming. Well, maybe on a few shady ISPs, but not to the broad range of victims.
