Hacked Accounts
" Are you on a dynamic IP instead of a fixed IP? If so its just that your router has reconnected to the server and been assigned a different IP address which is nominally registered to a different location. I understand they intend to change the security in some way to account for this - possibly allowing it to be disabled or by another authentication means. |

" facepalm.jpg Despite my initial worry that GGG had a security breach, my account has been absolutely fine since I started logging on again after the security update was released. Still wonder how some people using things like me (two factor auth password manager) have had their account compromised. I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.

SEVERAL times when i log in poe notifies me that my account has been accessed elsewhere but when i check my account it seems that I did not lose anything. I have changed my password many times already. I wonder why this is happening? anyone else experiencing the same thing?
one more thing. if someone else knows my password they can access the forums/poe site and change the password themselves right |

Dynamic IP address, maybe?
I have to unlock my account every single time I log in for the first time in a day, since when I disconnect from my provider the IP address resets and when I log on again I receive a new IP. This is a very common thing here in Europe, so every time my IP changes, the game sees me connecting from a different location, that is the location of the server I am logged in that day. |

Went to my friend's house two days ago, only to realise he has had all of his orbs taken too. He didn't log in for a couple of weeks, so technically he didn't upgrade his client. His password was saved in the text file, and he might have had spyware or other bloatware installed.
All orbs were taken except the shards and the weapon and armor quality upgraded. Every single other orb was stolen. Was strange to me because it usually happens to people you don't know... But seeing him log in firsthand only to discover all of his orbs were gone was pretty creepy. Was I Dreaming ? - Harry Mason

well i logged in today and all my orbs were gone too.
i think just yesterday night they were still there. i think nothing exept of my orbs and glasblowers baubles and blacksmith wetstone, as well as my armourers scraps were stolen. maybe one or two pots as well, but its kinda disturbing the playflow, if you know what i mean. i wont cry upon the loss of these even if that was a bunch of stuff, but i really hope the security here gets better. |

when I'm logging with my regular IP, i receive message, that my account requires unlock due to log in from another IP.
some orbs, and at least 2 skill gems were stolen (( |

my account was hacked right when they came out with the dynamic Ip thing but I must have found out before they were able to take anything (someone in china ofc were the hackers) I then proceeded to change my password to a basically impossibly long list of of things mixing between numbers and important other things which I hoped would stop them....I also changed my email password to another super long hard to guess password and two days ago gmail informed me that someone in china was trying to hack my email!!!!! wtf mother of god get these chinese guys off our accounts!!!

Add me to the hacked list, all my orbs are gone. I guess they removed some of the quality gems but I am not that sure about it. I only access the game from my computers and I'm pretty confident about my own security, so I have to assume the problem lies elsewhere...
