Hacked Accounts

You might actually want to read the links rather than assuming it's a legit site just because it says "pathofexile" someplace in the link..id1945.com looks to be from cypres according to networksolutions.com/whois. One year registration indicates it may be a scam site, as I doubt GGG moved to cypres and didn't see fit to metion it i would say someone is trying to scam folks who don't bother to actually read the links they click on.

Learn what? There's nothing to learn if the players themselves made no mistake.

Well, you clearly learned nothing. It's almost always the players fault, because they are an easier target.

^ Almost always. You know, when the first massive hack started to happen. What do you think is the first thing most players will do? Why, change their passwords of course. So why is it some months later many level 80+ hardcore characters get hacked?

This is where the probability of it being the player's fault gets lower and lower.

He is trolling. Don't bother.

I did not have the same password for POE and my e-mail. Everything is gone. The e-mail wasn't opened or view. Is there anyway they can use a generator on the codes and keep trying till they get it?

I'm not upset about losing all the items but they had to go and move all my HC chars to default.... that's just mean.

Same for me, hacked today. All currency/uniques/quality gone.

My password was unique - it was not used anywhere else - 75% strenght on http://www.passwordmeter.com/ which seems fine to me.
Password for mail was also not compromised so I don`t know what to think about it.

I`m solo player, I`m not speaking with anybody in-game so it seems strange to me somebody "guess" my email adress and password.
got hacked and robbed too
was the first time in any online game that someone gained access to my account
seems very suspicious to me - so good bye i'm done with this game ...
Interesting, just got this email a few minutes ago:

"
Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone attempted to log in from a location that you don't typically play from - "Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China".

As for this somehow being my fault: funny thing that, since I've not played the game or been logged into the forums in over two months (according to residual log files left behind in uninstall from when I last played), my antivirus is automatically updated every couple of hours, I never download/run applications I don't trust (and if I should need something like that for some reason it is sandboxed), and I used a unique password for logging into this game.

Quite odd indeed.
Hi there - this may not mean that your account security has been breached. It may be simply that your IP has changed since you last logged in. If you feel at all concerned about your account safety I would recommend that you change both your Path of Exile account password and your associated email password to separate complex passwords that you don't use for any other accounts. Feel free to contact me or support at "Support@grindinggear.com" if you have any further queries about this.

Kind regards,
Bex
Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone attempted to log in from a location that you don't typically play from - "San Jose, California, United States".

Just got this mail, haven't logged in for at least 2 month to either PoE Webpage, nor PoE itself. Got up to date AV, don't download fishy software. PW wasn't entirely unique, but didn't get hacked somewhere else in the last few years, at least that I know of.
Just fyi.
