Burned Miscreation Spectres and others

A lot of people have been wondering how these work for summoners. Today I have done a little bit of testing with them and as far as I can tell, their damage doesn't stack.

My evidence for this is that I was using 1 alone, no zombies, skeletons or anything else. The dps coming from it was very strong, but when I raised an additional 3, the amount of dps coming from the Righteous Fire was the same with 4 than what is was with 1, So their Righteous Fire dps does not stack sadly. I can see why though, as 4 of these would allow you to kill any mob almost instantly.

However, they are still extremely useful. I have been testing many other spectres too, but I find it always best to have 1 Burned Miscreation and 3 other ranges spectres. Since the overall dps a Burned Miscreation can put out is far greater than any other spectre, but as their dps doesn't stack, there is no point in getting 2.

So all in all, yes they're very useful as long as you use them correctly. For docks I like to use 3 Tentacle Miscreations with LMP/GMP and 1 Burned Miscreation - this for me is what I'm able to clear the docks fastest with.

However, if you're farming a more open space like Fellshire, it's actually best to take 3 Carrion Queens with LMP/GMP instead of the Tentacle Miscreations, as I find these to have the best aoe dps as their fireballs splash. The reason why I suggest taking these to an open area only is because they're quite slow and in places like The Docks, they frequently get stuck behind scenery, which limits your dps greatly.

I take Tentacle Miscreations to The Docks as they're quick, and with LMP/GMP added, they have fairy good aoe potential.

I sort of went off-topic as this thread was meant to be dedicated to Burned Miscreations, but I hope this helps some people when choosing their spectres!

EDIT: I'm also going to be posting an in-depth guide of my build that I made for a summoner. It is an all round build that covers all 3 areas extremely well - Offense, Defense and Support.

I like the fireball tossing Ribbons from the solaris temples. They attack rapidly and they have tons of fireballs going out, with either fork or LMP. They do fairly well for me. Those and Voidbearers as well as tentacle miscreations.

Do you have to go "collect" these specters where they spawn, or can you recall them somehow? I've never played a summoner (that lived past Vaal.)

You have to go collect them. Its not hard, once you kill one, you can raise it as a spectre. Its just like the revives of D2. You need them to be dead before you can use them.

I was going to mention a little bit about the Flame Sentinals, but personally, I prefer to other two. But to each their own - if they're what get the job done to you, keep using them!

The only reason I don't prefer these as much as the Carrion Queens or Tentacle Miscreations is because their fireball splash damage and radius is seriously limited. Compared to the Tentacle Miscreations, their attack rate is very slow and most of the time, they will only be hitting 1 target per fireball, so overall I think the Tentacle Miscreations have higher potential single target and aoe damage.

As for the Carrion Queens, I just the damage of their fireballs; it's somewhat higher than the damage from the Flame Sentinal fireballs, and has much more aoe effectiveness.

However, as mentioned above, this is just what I think works best for me. (:
I havent tried the carrions too much. I might give them a try. I just like the ribbons since they use lmp and fork randomly. I like random, and they do well for groups while my zombies keeps the mobs in check. I'll give the queens a shot next time I'm on.

Best 3 in during my testing where #1 Defensive/#2 dps: Evangelists, #1 dps(by alot)/#2defensive(Tied kill speed is def): Burning Mis, #2d efensive/#3 dps(barely because shock scaling): Blackguard Arcmage. This was my goal tier with decent clear speeds.

Voids would be best as a Blind + GMP + faster proj. Carrion Queens have best damage in my second tier of specter. Frenzy Apes, Alchemists, and Devour.

Hmm, maybe chaos bears and Burning mis stack.

How much damage do avians do with their body-corpse-throwing skill?

Decent spike damage but it takes 2.5-5 seconds to set up. Two steps 1 eat corpse, 2 attack. Another note for those testing inclined faster casting works on Evangelists. Their spell casts more often but it has an animation before it deals damage. This animation time stays the same but you get more casts.

the best setup defensively and offensively is simple 4L. spectre, increased aoe, minion life, and red socket swap. go get ur 2 preachers with duration + aoe. then go to town and swap duration with inc burning and get ur burned bla bla. go back to town and swap duration bak into 4L.

the increased aoe applies to all of ur spectres. burnings aoe degen while ur preachers aoe protect u and cast rediculous phys damage spells that hit everything. theres no better simple setup in the game for spectres.

i tried titty pew pews and sentinals but the defesive and offensive of 2 preachers + BM beats them by leaps and bounds.
