[0.10.4] HC EK Tank Marauder (The Bloodfather)

I have been following this guide, and now lvl 58 and loving it! Yeah the dps is not as good as other classes atm, and people who spam lightning arrow etc do make me jealous of their fast attacks lol, but my gear is pretty bad anyways no trading at all, but im happy with the follow stats: HP 2k dps 1100 buffed armor 9500 buffed physical damage reduction 73% (love this!) ele resists 80-80-79 (nice!) Now im focusing on buying some transition gear with the right sockets, and my stats will improve a lot! Hardest part was the beginning when I shot straight to Iron Reflexes, as all the nodes along the way were just stat nodes... I think I transitioned from Heavy Strike/Leap Slam into EK about lvl 42 when I got Iron Reflexes, and what a huge difference it made!!! I went from 40% PDR buffed to 60%+ PDR buffed, and solo and group was much easier after that! The most noticeable difference to high PDR was when I was in Act 1 Merciless Feith(sp) Pool, and my 2h melee friend and i were side by side, then a pack of 5-6 skeleton bulls charged us, and my friend got killed immediately (his gear is good with a godly 2h lvl 44 unique), while my health was down by 60%! Now my only issue is life at 2000 is a bit low, but I'm grouping with 2 other friends or just group farm, so my poor gear is getting me the levels I need until I buy a set of transition gear for lvl 70 onwards =) Thanks for the guide relidar! PS: the only difference to the build is I decided to spend 4 skill points to pick up Leather and Steel for the extra 32% increased armor and evasion, 8% mana, and speed bonus due to armor penalty removed. running at 32% speed with 25% boots + haste is awesome for SC!!! " Having just lvled a new Marauder from scratch, I recommend you go straight to IR, maybe pick up the extra ele resists and +30 stat nodes along the way, and then go straight to Inner Focus for better buffs. Short term it will suck a lot, but just group level and avoid solo unless you are doing some side quests, and definitely look for group to kill bosses. Once you got both IR and IF, then fill out the health and resists nodes and you will be sweet! IGN: AchiLize

I'm glad you're enjoying it man :) You're absolutely right, the road to IR is very heavy indeed, it's long and not a lot of fun since you really don't pick up anything cool along the way. But the reward, just like you said, is very nice indeed. This is also my favorite part about this spec, being so freaking tanky is just awesome! And you won't even have to worry that much about gear because the auras do most of the heavy lifting. I think you made a good decision with going for the Leather and Steel node, it's actually really nice now after the change. I'd boost the hp a bit as well, being at around 4k should be a nice spot to aim for. Keep me updated as you progress! My Supporter Pack list compensates for my small penis.

The road to IR and IF are quite hard, but from then on it gets much easier. Fortunately I got a lvl 18 wand like this for dps: I think I paid 1 chaos and 1 alch =) Rest of my gear: Oops I lied, I did buy the wand, amulet and the shield... the rings and belt are drops from my ex-FP-templar =) Can't afford to put Faster Casting onto my chest yet, as my HP regen is not enough to feed that beast... Also not sure what gems I should go for for 5L, as I have a 15% Faster projectile... Maybe EK - Fast Casting - Faster Projectiles - BM - Iron Will?? But added fire and life leach option is awesome too... and the choice will decide if I buy a GRRRB or GGRRB chest... " Oh yeah that's a really nice wand for a level 18, that's a silly amount of Spell Damage! All the other gear looks nice, you seem to have the base hp to build on, you just need to amplify it now. And yeah, you probably want around 100-150hp/sec before you can start building up the faster casting stat. Which will be no problem at all once you get more health and regen, especially with Vitality. You need a few more 4L items now so you can run more auras with reduced mana. I like both Faster Casting and Faster Projectiles to be honest, it's a matter of taste at the end of the day though. Some people will prefer the range from FP and some will like the FC for a change of pace. I'd definitely pick FP or FC over AFD though, AFD is a great dps addition, but both FP and FC bring utility on top of more damage. I would recommend carrying Life Leech for those hard situations as well. I think LL becomes more and more important later on though, especially when you start doing maps. Just try to get an AR/EVA based chest and the coloring won't be a huge issue if you decide to switch at a later point. My Supporter Pack list compensates for my small penis.

I heard that recolouring of 5L can sometimes take hundres of Chromes to get right??

" I personally never had issues with coloring with the right odds. I guess you can get REALLY unlucky sometimes though. It gets really bad if you try to go for blue/red on a pure green chest however! Yeah that sounds like a good plan actually! I still recommend playing with both FC, FP and LL first to get a good feel of it. The good thing with going both FC+FP though is that you will have an easier time with weapon(s) or weapon/shield, you can just go very high spell damage. (I was actually DW wands until very late when i got the shield on the first page) My Supporter Pack list compensates for my small penis.

well I traded an old 5L ar/es for this:
The stats aren't that good... life is low... no resist, but the armor and evasion rating are through the roof!
