ALL HAIL PRESIDENT TRUMP

Well, can't say I didn't try.

As for you, Turtledove (and other saner anti-Trump folk), I hope you are aware that Mueller frequently makes arguments that suggest the possibility of connection, but are far too weak of arguments to prove connection, and that he does this throughout the report. As I've said before, being thorough is a good thing, but don't fool yourself into reading Mueller say "this might have happened" with him saying it happened.

-----

One more thing about Volume I of the Mueller Report...

Imagine the following plotline was introduced into DC Comics: Lex Luthor decides to run for President, and during the campaign The Batman breaks into the buildings of Luthor-affiliated people and organizations — first the office of his political party, then the office of campaign manager Mercedes Graves. Both times irrefutable evidence is extracted indicating the Luthor campaign is acting in an immoral and possibly illegal manner, although nothing has the fingerprints of Lex himself upon it.

Shortly after these break-ins, security contractors for the Luthor campaign say that the intrusion was connected to the Applied Sciences division of Wayne Enterprises, but refuse to let the FBI investigate the evidence directly. The Luthor campaign plays the victim card, denies the validity of the evidence The Batman revealed, and with the support of allies in the press continues the campaign. They narrowly lose to the other candidate, who they immediately accuse of conspiring will Wayne Enterprises for illegal election interference.

An investigation then commences into the break-ins wherein a well-respected, although decidedly anti-vigilante, retired law enforcement officer takes the case and starts putting serious pressure upon The Batman, eventually releasing a report wherein he suggests — but doesn't quite go so far as to actually claim — that Bruce Wayne provides funding for and has intimate knowledge of the Caped Crusader. (That actually sounds like a pretty entertaining storyline.) Additionally, Daily Planet chief Perry White is indicted on multiple counts of publishing illegally procured information, in apparent retaliation for their nonconformist coverage of the Author break-ins.

The point I'm trying to get to here is: do you think the average person, just a Joe Everyman walking the street, would necessarily look at all those developments and think "yes, the Batman broke the law, and we need to hold Wayne Enterprises accountable?" Or would a great many think "Thank God for the Batman, and thank God for Perry White, for giving us the truth, and I hope they're not just pardoned but statues made in their honor?"

Volume I of the Mueller Report details two kinds of election "interference:" the IRA social media campaign and the email hacks/WikiLeaks dumps. As to the first, I think it was wrong and should be prosecuted but ultimately petty — Buff Bernie coloring books weren't going to make 78,000 key people vote Luthor Clinton. In regards to the hacks, when I read Mueller describe how the "attack" was carried out, I feel as if I'm having a vision wherein I'm following down the footsteps of heroes. Whether it was indeed Russians (most likely) or if it was Seth Rich or whoever it was, I for one thank them for their service as a whistleblower in the fight to expose corruption.

Now if you watched The Dark Knight and when it got to the press conference you thought Wayne was a coward for not turning himself in and were genuinely disgusted that Dent would lie to the people of Gotham to cover for him, then I guess you and I simply disagree on several moral issues.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

High confidence from the intelligence agencies is about as good as it gets in that arena. You really are going out on a limb to say that Putin was not aware and was not directing the Russian assistance to Trump in the 2016 election. Plus it is just plain illogical. It really is very old news.

As Sam would say "...there's still some good in this world...", ain't exactly sure if it's worth fighting for but still. Like this particular song.

Anyways, God Bless America... or Satan (whatever gets the job done), cuz everybody knows that the dice are loaded, and everybody rolls with their fingers crossed; everybody knows the war is over, but the good guys... lost!

Edit:
The funny thing is that I been listening to Leonard's song for years and years, never tried to look it up, I mean the lyrics, I always thought it said the good guys... last (not lost). I guess that goes with the character, whatever that might signify (for good or ill). Until very recently. And it was a revelation, well kind of...

Excellent stuff, TD!

Ever wonder why Putin has instructed his puppet, Trump to have his henchmen go after Adam Schiff so relentlessly? So much of the Kremlin/right wing disinfo propaganda has been targeted at that one Congressman.

Here's why: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/05/26/adam-schiff-russia-hawk-524-226983

Ohr, McCabe, Strzok and others all have something in common. They are experts in Russian mob/government corruption and cyber warfare. They investigated Putin.

Putin wanted them out, so Trump helped him out. All part of the quid pro quo

Hmmm. here's some wise words I heard someplace. I suggest you may want to take them to heart?

Impeacher please believe me when I say this comes from a place of love: you have become so biased that you've basically destroyed your reading comprehension skills. While this is strange, it isn't THAT strange — occasionally even I misread things due to bias. Slow down, stop assuming that reality will consistently agree with you, and take a moment to figure out what it is people are actually saying.

This is VERY important.

More than wanting Trump to win, Putin wanted Clinton to lose. That's why during the primaries, there was a massive Kremlin effort to hurt Clinton and help Sanders. Once Clinton prevailed, the effort switched to exclusively helping Trump.

For Putin, ANYTHING was going to be better than being slapped around by Clinton.

I disagree.

The social media campaign of the Internet Research Agency turned on Trump the instant it seemed he would be the President-Elect. Michael Moore physically attended an anti-Trump rally in NYC on Nov 9, 2016 promoted by the IRA on social media. The IRA didn't even wait until election day was over; they turned out a dime.

The one constant in Russian meddling has been to undermine whomever seemed likely to be the future (or current) President of the United States of America. The IRA is looking at the Democrats' constant attempts to undermine Trump's authority and smiling in approval.
