Made significant improvements to a number of Spectred monsters. Many monsters that couldn't be spectred previously now can, and many that previously only used their melee attacks in unlife will now use whatever special skills they had in life. Several Spectres that were dealing damage far above others have been toned down. We're looking at you, Atlas Influence monsters.

Wich one was nerfed? Slave driver? Tukohama's vanduard? Cannibal-fire eater? Solar guard?
I know what I will be playing this weekend and it won't be PoE, I can guarantee you that. I already bought new Stellaris DLC and will be enjoying myself. Maybe I might check 3.10 out in mid-late league. I hate this leddit/streamer bandwagon direction GGG is taking. If you cater to that group and leave rest of us out in the cold then I will be happy to say my goodbye and move on. I hope elitists and fanbois will still have your back when you need support (though I doubt it).

Don’t mind this comment, I’m just a pissed off Necro player who doesn’t understand how my enjoyment playing necros effects anyone else. The people who took those builds to the max were a minority. I had a baron geofri/victario build and people were slaying bosses faster with double strike and saviors faster than me... I don’t get it. I’m sure someone who is happy about the nerf will be happy to explain though.

How dare a 100ex endgame melee build with a 20ex boss drop weapon outdps a 5ex zombie build.

and this is an example of someone who doesn't know what hes talking about!

i agre with u Glockine :)

5ex zombie build yea muhahaha canot stop laugh

I read all 40+ pages of feedback just to check if there is something major I missed when reading notes myself. I will join the crowd - I am mystified. Nobody reads long posts so I will keep mine short and temper low
I can understand if GGG wants to keep power creep under control and while introducing new (obviously stronger to have any impact) elements at the same time nerfs those at the time above average. I could even imagine such an approach could level the board releasing underpowered skills and mechanics from utter oblivion. Still, it would imply some analyzing on GGG side…. and here is where my curiosity spikes. It seems to me than rather than analyzing data and correcting when imbalance is clear, GGG team just watches streamers and reads some redditers, following with blind nerf hammer … and then every aspect of given skill/ mechanics is gutted. Pretty often nerf hammer hits not where imbalance is apparent… or its non-surgical characters wrecks landscape in areas that were far from meta before giving nothing in exchange.
Moreover, the gap between meta and virtually unused skills is so big, even after nerfs noone but the current fans will use those underdogs
I, along with most ppl complaining in this thread, will join the new league on Friday. I will do it hoping, that the league mechanics will not be overtuned and jewels drops and RNG will compensate for the nerfs in notes… And, what is most important, when asked about best games to play, I will rather say ‘well, I play POE because I found no better alternative even though I don’t like the direction it follows in the last several months’ than ‘I play POE, it’s a great game, you should try it’. Hardly something that will attract new players. With little ambassadors and mechanics increasingly catering for no-lifers, I have no idea what is GGG business model. I can well imagine genre purity is important and even that no-lifers have deep coffers but with limited inflow of new no-lifers candidates and attracting broad micro-payers audience, game growth potential is limited.

What the hell are u talking about. There isint that much skills that was gutted to death. I know that when ppl see 10% less damage nerf they assume that its dead skill, but well..its not.

"the gap between meta and virtually unused skills is so big, even after nerfs noone but the current fans will use those underdogs"

What gap? Meta is like 3/4 "best" builds and i can assure u every league i played there were many many more than 4 viable builds and gap was somethink like ~30-60s on killing end game boss (ok ok, meybe 2/3 min in some examples). If thats something that keep u from playing different build than meta than...yeah, u got problems and im unable to help u but stop with this ludicrous bs.
Mathil is prime example that u can play something offmeta and still kill sirius, Uelder and whatnot. Just because u follow poe.ninja as if it was bible doesnt mean there are only few viable build and rest are in gutters.

Your whole post is so vague, talking about directions and whatnot without any exaples.

And for the finishing note, im not saying GGG is perfect and dont make any mistakes, missnerfs etc...BUT almost everytime ppl cry here, or on reddit, they are wrong. Ele hit got 33% less damage nerf -> NERF to the ground, unplayable -> league start, ppl realise that instead of oneshotting everything they just need 2 shots and that skill is fine. Zombies got nerfed in 3.9 -> unplayable, nerf hammer -> still doing shitton damage, still one of best builds.
And now...Necro nerfed to ground, delete necro form game...-> new league soon, i wonder how this cry gonna turn out..real mystery..

Edit:

U can make 5ex, even less, viable zombie build thatll rape content, just because minmaxing build cost a LOT more doesnt mean shit. Cus u can sink countless exes in any build, but not everyone will perform like zombies with 5ex budget...so yeah, "an example of someone who doesn't know what hes talking about"

people complaining about small pseudo numerical changes on necros have daddy issues and should get their brain checked. necro will be king this league again.
Peace out Baron helmet it was a fun run.

I'll read all the comments and edit this later but after a quick read I think you guys should really focus more on bringing other builds up to the standard of "meta" builds instead of nerfing the few outstanding builds that do exist.

Not really surprised or upset but yeah.
I get abused by GGG staff every time I post because I started the Fix Your Game meme. Pathetic and unprofessional.

First time i reply to patch notes, but i will be short :)

TL;DR: welcome to Incursion 2.0.

Summoners were broken and they got nerfed, as expected.
Played near all flavors of summoner builds in past 2-3 leagues and i can say that most of them(well, the 5-6 archetypes at least) were too much powerful for the investment needed( my fav was the Chains of command for the massive minion capacity and buffing).

Really hoping the new Animate Weapon(with both minions number nerf and damage buff) is still viable for a summoner build.

The thing I am really SAD about is seeing Bottled Faith wasn't nerfed in this patch.
C'mon, huge damage build enabling no drawbacks-flask even if you're holding a stick? Wasn't GGG against this kind of thing, was it?

Where is the difficulty in making a really working build if you have this flask?
( and i know a lot of you got on the hype train in seeing "*insert fav weapon/skill* gazillion of damage build" just to come to the realization it works only if you use that flask)

Forgot to add: New Doryani's Fist looks quite nice to build.

EDIT: So here is a nice idea based on new patch: doryani's fist + new guard skill damage buff + manastorm shenanigans in the middle + unarmed setup + new cluster jewel "60% attack speed if unencumbered" and blah blah blah

please unnerf Winterorb, you have to scale so many aspects of that skill to even archive moderate dmg ( projectil nuber duration castspeed crit) and if you dont channel its basically drops of in about 3 seconds and in this time periot doent even fire 2-3 times. just rework it so that if you stop channeling it releases 1 projectil / stage lost as an burst option like blade flurry does. stages, channel time to gain 1 stage and projectil synergy could be ajusted to balance out the new proposed mecanic. its just a joke in its current form.

Alternativly please create new cold based channel skills.. we got like 4 fire 4 lightning and 3 chaos but only 1 cold based.
