Remove Pause from Hardcore
I really enjoy how Hardcore is effectively a self-imposed challenge, yet everyone apparently tries to find ways around said challenge.
It's like playing a Nuzlocke where I don't release a Pokemon that fainted in battle because it was my fav. |

I'm not sure why it matters. Everyone on the ladder is using the same rules.
Also, there are so many stupid ways to die where you have no chance to pause, it's still impressive. Also, these people are insane and I would not want to piss them off by saying it doesn't count because they paused. |

The major problem with with the pause is that the devs will balance the game around it.
This means everyone is expected to pause or die. This is not good game design by any means. A separate league would be a good start. That would give the devs more data on what killed whom. Now, the data pretty much only shows who was slow to press pause. |

Please do not remove the pause function. That is one of the very good things that got added to the game and it´s very appreciated being able to pause the game when kids want something, wife wants something or work expects you to work.

" +1 Who cares if some players are "abusing" the mechanic? How does that impact your gameplay at all? Just don't pause. Maybe they should make it REALLY hardcore and give you timer to complete the map or your character dies... Different people play the game differently. News at 11. |

" The game is and will always be balanced around SC Trade league. Which is why pause isn't really an issue and it doesn't make the game "not hardcore". People still lose characters all the time. I think i'm on my 15th now. And yeah i do pausequit in certain situations like when i'm being PUSHED by ****g mobs into a certain death. |

" Sadly it already seems they did balance around it, you can get pinned in a corner in ritual, or overwhelmed easily in breach unless you play specific builds. There are times you eat -10% exp or pause and return to character select. To the people above, nobody said to remove it from standard, just pausecore. Just like how poe1 was logoutcore. Pause is amazing, they don't need to remove that in hardcore..
..they just need to make reset to checkpoint = death, which is the thing it actually mimics anyway. I played POE1 hardcore until I learned about the logout macros. I felt so cheated, and since I will never use it, I gave up fake hardcore. I don't totally blame them though.. the number of people like me, who would play real hardcore with no logout macro and no reset to checkpoint (like I enjoyed in wow classic hardcore) might be pretty small. They could probably satisfy everyone if they would track and publish the number of reset-to-checkpoints (aka fake deaths) on hardcore character info panels and ladders.
