CPU High Temperature and Game Shutting Down
My Computer;
Ryzen 5 7600x RTX4070 ti Super Tower Type Dual Fan Cooling Windows 10 MSI MAG Forge M120A Airflow 6x120mm Auto RGB Fan While the CPU temperature is 75-80 degrees in Hideout while idle, it is 90 degrees in maps and the game shuts down. As far as I read in the forum, there are those who complain about high CPU usage, especially in the first days, but hasn't this problem been fixed? When the game frequently shuts down, I got suspicious and checked the usage and temperature with afterburner and noticed that the game shuts down after 90 degrees. 90 is a very high value. What is your situation? Last bumped on Jan 16, 2025, 8:44:07 AM

I'm having the same problem.
I also noticed that the majority of the CPU usage happens not in the game per se, but in the hubs areas. I needed to downgrade every graphic option to run the game at 80ºC, when my machine is more than capable of running it in the highest option in paper. | |
" I didn't set the settings to low, I'm playing everything at maximum. I should consider lowering it until it's fixed. I haven't had this problem even when playing mmorpgs. I haven't seen the game close or rather reach such high temperatures in places where there are a lot of people. The most I've seen is 80 degrees. So this is a problem with the game. Thank you for your answer. |

Even if there's something wrong in the game that cause an all-core load for no reason your PC isn't working properly if it overheats so bad it crashes.
Are your CPU fans responding appropriately to the increased temperature? Maybe they're misconfigured in the BIOS? Maybe they're connected to the wrong fan pins on the motherboard? Maybe there's poor contact between the CPU and heatsink? |

I hear my Noctua NH-D15 spin up struggling to cool my 12700kf every time I load a new map lol.

Same CPU. I've commented on every thread about performance issues.
I can play the game on much higher settings than what I'm currently playing at just so that GGG's typical horrendous optimisation doesn't stress my CPU enough to make it blast off to the moon. I can hit even up to 85 degrees on area transitions. AREA TRANSITIONS. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS YOUR CODE EVEN DOING WITH MY CPU DURING THAT TIME. Obligatory "I have no issues in other games, benchmarks, or stress tests". Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.
Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision". Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts. |

I'm running i7-10750H with RTX 2060 capped at 60 FPS and the CPU/GPU is slammed to 100% the entire time. I haven't played the game in weeks because of this issue. PoE1 runs great here with everything cranked up, no problems.

This is 0 to do with the game but your hardware. You either need to adjust the frequency / voltage of your cpu or it needs thermal paste / better cooler etc. This is not a game issue at all. This is a Hardware issue.

If your PC overheats and shuts down when all cores are at 100%, you need to address your cooling.
Your PC should be able to run at 100% CPU and GPU load for months. The game is not responsible for your failed cooling solution. |

My temperatures Never exceed 70 celcius at anypoint during gameplay. 99% of the time its below 65c while playing even in the most intense frames. This is a hardware issue not the game. Last edited by TRYLLTV#2466 on Jan 7, 2025, 9:48:51 AM
