It is crazy and comical some of the positions you guys will take and criticisms you will levy with no proof, evidence or even logic. And even further surprising is the echo chamber of negativity and cynicism. It's a wonder these devs even provide a feedback section and it's hard to imagine they would ever read it with such idiotic things being written here

unless people get real comfortable with the idea of having 2 factor auth in video games.. you are all just going to have to stfu about bots/spammers etc
there are plenty of good solid ways to prevent spam/bots etc but its going to make the user experience slightly worse. so until u are ready for that convo.. stfu about it |

" But 2-factor authentication does not prevent botting, at least not in versions where you don't use your real ID. |

" it would absolutely stop bot farms maybe not individual bots.. but thats not the issue anyway its mass botting people should not be able to have multiple accounts tied to one email/phone number etc its virtually impossible to bot farm if the game devs actually wanted it to end despite what people think getting massive amounts of fake phone numbers or emails is not easy and the sites that claim they can do that are terrible or easily spotted. literally no "gamer" on earth needs multiple accounts anyway. just put a 1 account limit and make that account 2 or 3 factor. done Last edited by BrainVs#6980 on Feb 28, 2025, 10:14:59 PM

" It literally does not prevent bots (including farms) from doing their stuff. Even IF GGG would "ban" all numbers, they could find on sites where you can use free ones... it doesn't matter. Bot-farms could buy real numbers and manage them virtually with... bots or "outsource" the verification to India or whatever. "botting/RMT" is an entire industry that can deal with basically everything you throw at them. It's just sometimes lower to higher "entry cost" for them, that's it. If you don't restrict accounts to real ID and a shitload of factor authenticators - you won't stop them. And if you go this route... cyber attacks and data breaches could cause insane damage. Don't worth the risk. |

I enjoy the wad of peepos in here decrying inflammatory accusations about the company as a whole and the content creators who use their product, all based on incredulity and presumption at best.
The ideas that the video game RMT cartels are owned by the companies that produce games is pure insanity; its not like there is one set of players doing their own thing in each game, it is literally several large, organized syndicates of questionable legality that operate RMT schemes on all multiplayer games with a following. Even if Tencent thought it would be profitable to obtain a stake in ownership, they would never be able to track down somebody with the authority or capability to sell it to them, nor would they have any way to guarantee that they are getting their actual agreed upon share of the revenue, not to mention that such a partnership would necessarily put high up members of the cartels into direct contact with a company that could then use that information to blackmail them. To even consider such a partnership makes absolutely no sense for either party, let alone actually following through with it. The proposition that the streamers are paid shills for the game? To be honest, I'm going to give this conspiracy theory all of the attention it deserves since it is so original and has never been proposed ever before for any other game ever. Seriously, though, any of the folks in here down with the flat earth? That's the kind of reality denial vibe I'm getting in here. Last edited by Bigwilleh#1842 on Feb 28, 2025, 10:38:29 PM
