From Hype to Disappointment: How Patch 0.2.1 Ruined the Chase
" Yeah, I get what you're saying and I appreciate that you're on the same page about the importance of rare chase items. But let’s focus on Kalandra's Touch for a second. That ring dropped from around 700 divs to just 100+ in a single day after the patch. That’s not a small adjustment, that’s a freefall. If that’s what happens in one day, imagine what it’ll be worth after a week. And we still have two whole months until 0.3 in August. By then, even the rarest stuff might be cheaper than a 6-link(POE 1 reference). This kind of pace doesn’t just affect prices it kills the sense of achievement and long-term goals for players who actually put in the hours to grind. PoE 2? This update was awesome, can maybe finally get my last uniques on my own and not paying stupid prices in a non PVP game.
If you feel nothing to chase then you must have a GOD tier build (your lucky). If you have nothing to chase, then do what i did at level 100 in LE change games until next season. Always something to chase just find it. P.S
I am a Dog and i will just drop my load and leave on to the next post |

" Yeah, you’re right in a way. And honestly, I am considering quitting at this point. After grinding over 700 divines and buying items that were once considered pinnacle, it just feels like all my effort over the last two months got wiped out overnight. I’m not even mad anymore, just tired. I came here mostly to let out that final bit of frustration before I decide whether to move on or wait for the next season(maybe?). PoE 2? " I can totally relate to this. I bought an astramentis few weeks ago for 600 divs. If I see their price drop dramatically, I'm gonna be pretty sad that I basically wasted a bunch of currency. I guess it just comes with the territory of being heavily invested into the game. You never really know if/when drop rates will be adjusted or items will be nerfed, both affecting their status within the economy. I'd try not to worry about it too much but of course it's easier said than done. |

" Forget the currency. It's all that time wasted trying to acquire something when it can be easily had now. The waste of time feels bad. But next league, it will be better. |

" I think the change is healthier for you also. You didn't earn anything, you did the same repetitive task over and over again until you got digital items in a game. I'm sorry I just don't understand the sense of "accomplishment" you guys get from a drop in a video game. Studying for weeks to master some concept in school, or to finish a project, or losing weight. Those are things you earn. A video game is for fun. My question to you is, what was the fun part of this? was it having something other many other players didn't have? If that's the only thing that fun to you, well I guess understand why the change sucks. However, I think it might be better for you to find fun that isn't dependent on other people not having fun. |

Yeah I don't really understand people like the OP who trades like crazy but they exist since at least Diablo 2 so it's not surprising, I suppose they do get an enjoyment out of it, I just don't see it.

" So you think that someone having fun by making it a goal in-game to acquire a highly rare/sought after item is dependent on others not having fun? That's honestly not a reasonable thing to say. |
