Dual wielding shields

Also Dungeons of Dredmore allows dual shields cause all unarmed attacks are done with the feet.

There was an old PC game called The Summoning that allowed a player to dual wield, and it was awesome. I'd love this.

Imagine having two shields, each with a different Shield Charge gem with support gems that allowed for different attack styles - the right one supported with a couple life gain gems and the left one supported with added fire damage, etc. This would be pretty skill-intensive.

I'm absolutely all for any change that allows for increased build diversity.
most casters never use their wands for attacking any how so making dual shields would be an unnecessary buff for them.

I don't see why we can't have dual shields. We could have a nasty shield bash with one or both shields, and perhaps a whirlwind thingy where we use both shields to bash the enemies into oblivion? We could even add spikes to the shields for extra damage, perhaps. We just need to think outside the box. :)

And yeah, Dark Souls -is- coming to PC. Just ignore the subtitle they put on to sell more.

Atm spikes on shield causes attackers to take damage. How about making a build that makes enemies take damage when they attack you? Molten Shell?
I think the spiked shields only return the damage if you take any, not when you block. With two shields it would be less effective. But they should change this, it doesn't make much sense.

It might be a bit OP for a Necromantic Aegis using summoner.

You can do this in the current system other than the two shields. You can have two shield charge gems and support them just as you describe - the extra shield doesn't enable this build at all.

Dual shields would be way too good for non-weapon builds (spellcasters, minion masters, etc) by allowing double block chance, making it trivial to reach the block chance cap. I doubt this will happen.

Two shields are heavy, make a punishment reducing movement speed and attack speed.
