Erh... maybe Im missing something... except for cold to fire gem + avatar of fire I just see physical to elemental conversion. and the post was about 100% cold to fire without avatar.

Right you are, mixed it up with some of my setups from before. Still, if you can't reach the part of the tree where avatar is you don't really have a reason to do fire, I know I haven't heard that somebody wanted to convert cold to fire and had to give it up because he couldn't pull it off.

Also a shame that it's a ring, jewelry slots are too valuable and the ring doesn't offer many obligatory stats.

You've got some points but I think its still possible to make some good use of the ring that you couldnt otherwise. regarding different conversion I understand that the goal of the creator was to make an item that easily converted cold to fire due to at the time of his idea more cold skills existing in comparison to fire ones (and no elemental prolif, so this good idea of corpse disposal wouldnt hurt anybody back then except summoners, ah and "monsters rest in peace" was also the main objective along with that conversion), he's a victim of creation delay =/

I've made a tree for artic breath mine user with pyre that I could not have done without it, 105 points, max mine laying speed (obviously), 364% total damage increase from tree alone, 229% life, 50% eva, IR, might not be the best but what I could do fast. One could use the cold to fire gem but it would be at a loss of node effectiveness even at lvl 20 and it doesnt go the way of avatar of fire, I also think a gem slot release isnt a bad trade. I shall test it in the 4month and possibly change it if I find it to not be defensive enough or have some problems (like lack of mana), maybe it could be better as CI, dunno, but wanted to make it as cheap as possible. Mine obviously to avoid RIPage to reflect.

Here's tree if anyone cares:

Damn, if this unique was designed before elemental proliferation got into the game that's quite a creation delay, what, over two years? But ok, if it was before we got avatar in this form I suppose it gets excused.

I suppose people might still get some use for it, it's not the worst offender out there by far. I mean, look at Charan's swords, who could have known way back then that blocking will some day take such a vital role in metagame.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Wonder if GGG has anything in mind for 1.2.0 to help 2handers in that regard, they really need help... also looking forward to last sword even though I may never find that uber rare base unique item.
aaah better not think about it, still a month away =X

EDIT: There's more info spread in this thread. he says it was in the works for over a year

2nd EDIT: HOLY SHIT, just noticed the current price for pyre, erh... Pyre sucks, yep, vendor trash, I wouldnt ever use it. But seriously now I think it may be a bit overpriced atm. or is it extremely rare as a drop?

What is the point in destroying enemies when you kill them (Pyre Ring)? Killing them basically destroys them... I don't see anything in the items explanation defining a difference.
Computer specifications:
Windows 10 Pro x64 | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | 32GB 3600MHz RAM | MSI Geforce 1070Ti Gamer | Corsair AX 760watt PSU | Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD & Crucial MX 500 4TB SSD's

Having not used the ring myself I believe the corpses disappear (like detonate dead)?

Same mechanic as Freeze/Shatter - necros can't raise them, no DD totem pain in the ass.. etc

burning corpses still can proliferate to alive enemies

no corpse - no proliferation
Forums are SOOO much fun on patch day!

Casuals play because it's fun, not to achieve any goal unreachable with their resources.
We are playing for the next difficulty, the next keystone, the next item upgrade.
Not to feel better than anyone else.

Hmmm i counted all uniques in wiki from all unique list page and then flasks and maps and there are 252 unique items not 250 as stated here, where are 2 missing?

Maybe the two craftable uniques are not listed?

(The goddess scorned and the taming)
Pyre is quite effective. It allows to save points AND a gem slot. It also works well with three dragons.

Ice spear has a huge effective crit chance (netting 3x chance to crit per hit). With pyre and three dragons, you can make a SHOCKING ICE SPEAR. With the introduction of echo, you can stack crit multi.

You end out getting 3 MORE multipliers. Cast speed (by itself, it's a more, but there's a more applied to a more, making it better), crit multi (self explanatory) and shock stacks (same situation).

This gets even better with pledge of hands. You can (a) also wear a kaoms. Yes, crit build effectively using kaoms. Secondly (b) you can use added cold damage for a higher base which is awesome. With so many more multipliers, flat is most effective (face breaker casting).

I don't have enough currency, but with proper gear, it could be very powerful. Lots of damage and survivability.

If anyone does this, post it or message me.

Proposed links: Ice Spear - GMP / LMP - Echo - Faster Casting - Increased Critical Damage - Power Charge on Crit

Another option is to use Volls Protector and a 6L for single and multi targets or be able to use Added Cold without pledge (therefore wand and shield is available). It's still not cheap to go big.
