Blue Screen of Death with some sound cards
Hi guys, if you are using windows vista/7/8, you can set your main soundcard to onboard easily, and play PoE without "blue screen of death" ^^ and back to SB when stop to play
Check close your "windows clock" use right mouse click on speaker and enter in "sounds", now check your first tab (playback) search for your onboard soundcard, and using "right mouse click" set as "main device". when stop of the play revert all process ^^ obs: you need chance your sound box for onboard card or use headset and active your onboard card in your setup sorry for my poor english ^^ patience one day correction arrives Last edited by irven#6388 on Feb 15, 2013, 1:01:37 PM

Still crashing to bluescreen - now the bl.scr. occured 1 hour playing after
a new gamestart and login. I used "--softwareaudio" - but it seems my bl.scr. crashes don't really belong to my soudcard. Most time the game crashes to bl.scr. when i'm porting. Has anyone some more ideas to prevent bl.scr. - crashes ? It's so annoying - and really a torture playing. But anyway this game is really excellent. same here ... i think it isn't from the sound card, i've tried --noaudio --softwareaudio, without those two and nothing changes... just that BSOD occurs after 10 min or 30 min or 1h or more.

I've had the blue screen 4 times today, all Exactly at the same place in the game ; Portal to get to the Cavern of Wrath after The Coves.
EVERY time I enter this portal I get a blue screen with sounds and my computer stops. I've tryed the --softwareaudio and it did it again. What I don't understand is that yesterday was perfectly fine, I could enter this portal. Please, help me because I love this game. |

I have had this problem todady as well, 100% BSOD
Act II, entering any zone. First post, so you can see I cared enough to do something. Will someone from the offical staff post in the forum, to at least say they are aware of the issue? Thanks |

" Worked for me too. No more BSOD, YAY !! I used the AutoUpdate utility that came with the drivers, so I didn't pick a download. Interestingly enough, after the update, Creative's AutoUpdate no longer works. Way to go Creative. *sigh* |

" It looks like this might have worked for me too. Using a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro. Will test more later to see if it has definitely cured it. Edit: just had a BSOD. Back to software sound again:( Last edited by Dobster#5489 on Feb 16, 2013, 10:31:54 AM

In my case,
Windows 7 x64 an old Creative Audigy2 ZS PCI Since I got to act2, been getting blue screens every single time I play. Often when entering zones (Dark Forest...). I played 5-6 hours since I have applied this fix and I have not crashed again as of yet. |

This thread is pretty big now and yes, I know we have a workaround but please GGG can this at least be targeted to be fixed sometime in the near future?
I love the game and will continue to spend money on it but surely a potentially damaging bug like this needs looking at now. It would be good to at least get some feedback? even if it is to say that you simply don't have the time/funds to look into it now but will look into it in the next big patch. |

" Ok, I uninstalled the game and re-installed it and it worked for me by chance. Though the problem is not solve and I hope it won't come back... |
