Blue Screen of Death with some sound cards

Hardhead I just started getting this too. After playing with no issues for awhile my pc will goto a black screen and actually for a time I can still hear music from winamp playing then eventually it will goto a bsod. Just started happening a couple of days ago. Updated drivers, added --softwareaudio, --nosound, and stepped back all my overclocking to no avail

I tried the software switch on my machine and I'm happy to report it's worked throughout most of act one and well into act two w/o any bsods. Seems to have 'worked' *crosses fingers*

Since placing --softwaresound in my shortcut I have been bsod free for more than two weeks now.
Using an Audigy2 zs with latest drivers, this card is over 7 years old and still kicking :)

i have 2 soundcards, a X-Fi Titanium and a X-Fi mb2.
Latest drivers, clean setups, diffrent machines. read thru this thread carefully but nothing helped. this is also a huge cause in the FPS drops that you get when partying - when specific sounds are played (like ice-shoot impact).

I noticed this as well. Certain sounds, especially in the Docks were causing a lot of clipping and other artifacts. A bit annoying because everything on the PC will do it, even if I'm listening to music or watching a video.

Warehouse, Docks and Pools and Streams are the worst offenders.

Other than that, game works fine.

Same problem for me. Im on a Creative X-FI gamer. Blue screen when porting or entering a different instance.

Confirmed. Great! now i can play without being disturbed.

good work on the game dev's. i like the depth of POE and can't wait to reach higher levels!

Same Blue Screen issue here too. Really annoying.... Creative SB X-FI.

Spent all day trying everything suggested over the last 2 months for black screen/crash.

Nothing works. Played fine for six months. Occasional crash maybe every 20 hrs game play no big deal.Within the last two days,every five minutes. Comp locks. Have to restart. Today's patch to fix windows xp had no effect. Hoping a fix is coming. It ain't on this end.

Very frustrating. Also have a Creative sound card and getting the same blue screen crashes (only when attempting zoning).

Would be nice if someone from GGG would at least confirm the issue and address that they are looking into it. This is a great game but no way am I paying a cent until I can play without constantly crashing. It's not like Creative sound cards are some kind of obscure product. Come on GGG. Get this fixed!
