So what do people think of Dominus?
Well I only fought him on normal because i dont have the time or focus to go at the pace alot of other peeps go at.
but i stun locked him. it was quite comical but that what 2500 dps 70% of which is pure physical does when you are level 35 and when you have all the good stun threshold and duration passives Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Oct 28, 2013, 2:05:05 PM

" Lol, HOW? My tanky Marauder died serval times on him, it's like my 4300 life, overmaxed resists and almost 70% phys damage reduction have no effect on him. I would call the whole fight imba. Especialy single player and without great gear. I want to see the build that can stand Dominus without dying. Well, I beat him down but I was dying alot, lost all of my XP and can be happy that I only play Softcore. Dominus is no fun at all, at least not for the "average player" that don#t trade godlike gear or constantly farm in groups. ...And then are still people that want to BUFF this guy? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? -_- |

Faced him on cruel with my duelist, tanked everything but the ghost breath pretty easily, until the end. Second form hurt, and trying to run only ported me back. Was that desync or did he have some chain attack?
A buff wouldn't be horrible, but I think removing some miscreations would be in order... BreakingHearts/RhoaHood/BackAndVeryLate (Standard) | HushtailSweep/HushtailWeeps (Ancestor)

" I thought I had enough. Level 17 LL Gems in Groundslam and Heavy Strike, plus Warlords Mark Curse plus over 300 lifereg/s with Rejuvenation Totem plus 4 fat flasks. Still not nearly enough to stand his attacks for long, these lightning stuff is heavy, what skills does Dominus actualy use by the way? And why is LL in PoE so slow? Should be instant, would make things much more easy. I guess I should experiment with "Vaal Pact" but no experience at all with that skill. I also thought about corpse explosion in combination with Cast when Damage Taken, just to clear the area and lower the Polycount. I have constant 30 FPS instead of my 60FPS at the end of the fight. Just to messy there plus the rain. Not great for such an intense Bossfight, imho. Last edited by Fusion_Power#0294 on Oct 28, 2013, 3:46:54 PM

Awesome fight expect for the fps drops during the fight. And the occasional d/c's during the fight.
I have gone into the fight many times and during the transition to phase 2 its like the instance crashes and kicks the entire party to the loading screen. IGN: psyotiks

I think the fight could be more interactive. The giant machinery could play a role. For example, destroying various power sources to mitigate or stop the horde of minions spawning. Regardless still more creative than most boss fights I've seen in ARPGs.

He drops too many loot compared to maps. There is no reason to farm 66-69lvl maps, when you can kill Dominus for shitloads of loot.
Drop in maps should be increased! IGN: MortalKombat

love the fight, best boss in the game, loved it.
That said, Ive died 3 times to him on my lvl85 melee ranger due to my screen just freezing up and when I get control again Im already dead, often when not even close to him its those exploding fuckers coming out of his machine that I fear got me last time, one blow sup and my screen freezes long enough to have been hit by another 5 or 6 before I have any control again. Thats if I can get in the room with him, 2 out of 3 times I hit log in screen just trying to go through the door to the boss. Theres fuck all xp in the sceptre of god, not nearly enough enemies to kill, if I cna make it into the boss and not screen freeze I can faceroll him very quickly but when theres only a 1/3 chance I will get to fight him and then a 50/50 chance Ill lose 10 hours of xp due to a crash/log out/freeze during the fight Ive had to abandon the idea of running that boss. So the end result of dominus and the changes are that maps are more about getting xp than ever before, the static content is now fucking dire for getting xp and with boss loot buffs farming static ingame content with mf is more the go to way to get loot than ever before. So maps = xp, ingame = loot, exactly what GGG said they didnt want to happen, the exact opposite of the idea behind the mechanics that make mapping rng/swingy and static content readily available. In that sense its an epic disaster. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Oct 28, 2013, 6:10:09 PM
