Melee back to being second tier characters again. We had our time in the sun, but we got too close and burned.

It was an expected nerf, but I ask, "Why was it expected?"

It is because we know GGG hates people who like melee builds and created the game as a means to implement prejudice and supremecism (totally a word btw).

We must unite! I implore you, readers of the 90 whateverth page of this rage poop, to write a letter to your congressman (or prime minister or mom or something) explaining our plight and discrimination!

I think there is a lot of confusion as to how much damage triggers CODT. I'm level 69 and using CODT level 12 which procs at 1500 damage.

When I do merc Merveil runs it procs virtually continuously even though my health globe hardly moves.

So from my experience using the gem at mid levels it procs not on single hit damage but cumulative damage over a certain amount of time. So I think there is a lot of doom and gloom in this thread for no real reason. How about we wait for the patch and see what the true affect is as you level up your CODT?

That being said, I'm not happy with how they make the skills unusable if the skill is at a higher level requirement than the CODT. It should just cast the supported skill at a level that corresponds to whatever level requirement you have on the CODT.

IMHO, that would be the nerf GGG is intending to do without forcing people to scour gems just to make them usable with CODT.

I also +1 this +1. I remember how dead i was when trying to cast a curse, a totem, enduring cry, molten shell and maybe immortal call. You either make some buffs instant or get a damn grip tbh.

Most people arguing haven't past lvl 50 probably, CWDT wasn't supposed to be a mandatory gem
seriously, this makes it a build based gem (even with certain uniques/flasks) y'all sound like you have 1600 hp at lvl 70, stop complaining BS and learn, think.

(I'm a lvl 7x melee shadow that always used CWDT, yet i think it's completely fine)

And talking about Purity, i run most maps easily (i've partied 2 times just for the sake of testing maps) but it's not a big deal, you will usually get the Purity of X depending of the boss you are fighting.

No, if you actually take the time to test you don't release OP gems to begin with. They have a pattern of just throwing stuff out there and then letting the broad public test it.

Many examples are out there but this one is pretty blatant, in the first Build of Week Chris mentions how good it is to not even level the gem and now they nerf it. Clearly not tested or even thought out very well.

Beta is over, GGG please start acting like a company that has a released product.

Some builds like curse based are completely shutdown, GGG please give us atleast some kinda compensation like free reset since some people invested alot of currencies into those builds ! :/
And if some skill nerfs are needed please buff underused abilities..

Animate Weapon meh they die in 2 hits

Slower Projectiles WTF ROFL??
Reduced Duration WTF ROFL??

REAVE is still shit no one uses

Anyone else find it odd that the S2E1 Build of the week highlighted the CoDT usage and even recommended using a level 1 to support EC and now that build advice is nearly (not completely) useless?

I don't mind the nerf at all, I just think it's kind of funny to showcase something and then change it in such a way that completely negates the marketing plan for it.
