Why would GGG added "+2 to melee range per white socket" if it's impossible to achieve? I think there is a way to turn socket white at least for that unique sword.

Those of you who claim this is a trolling attempt by GGG are overlooking the fact that a supporter designed this item. If it's a troll, then the supporter is the troll in question. GGG wouldn't make this joke themselves, not on this item.

Shouldnt someone have noticed by chroming said item by now? or is it super rare? XD

Maybe chroming this weapon doesn't do the trick? There surely is more to it than just chroming it, but there is NO WAY AT ALL, GGG would allow something like that outside of the 2 Uniques having those sockets.

Presumably they are assuming that it would be limited to one white socket per item. That has the effect of relaxing off-color restrictions on items (one of the most cruel mechanics of this game) while not being grossly overpowered.

Could someone explain why white sockets would be imbalanced? The recipe for it would probably be more expensive than just rechroming making it nothing but a matter of convenience.

The only real use i see is for Mirror copies as those can't be chromed.

The uniques in the new Descent-League are all white socs. So, maybe it's just an option for descent? Will be in one of the chests with three white?

maybe there is now 0.001% chance that one socket can be white. That wouldnt be really breaking the game imho. It would be even more interesting.

As with a lot of things, it's all a matter of how it is implemented.

If the cost for having one white socket involves 3-4 exalts worth of currency, how would that be completely OP and break the game?

Remember a white socket is merely convenience, and nothing that you can't achieve nowadays with enough chromatics.

It reminds me of a question Chris asked a few months ago, "if there was a recipe that would auto-6 link an item but cost 1,200 fusings, would you do it?"

Try filling the vendor window with stacks of chromatics.
