Poll: Monster life number display
Should numbers be shown on the monster life bars?

Nothing wrong with options... having a LACK OF OPTIONS on the other hand... well that is where it becomes like EVERY OTHER MMO... BLAND.
The game NEEDS to flow freely, not clustered by a (selfish) view of how everyone "should" be happy, freedom is happiness and more people will at least try your game if you present them with options. I love virtual brutality so save it for the Mobs...

I prefer numbers shown, but i think option is good compromise.
Its good that gaming experience is adjustable by gamers needs. Gyntti2 @ d2jsp.org

i think health numbers should be optional.
what i would like to see: you can only see the total health amount after actually hitting an opponent. this way i can see whats happening with my dmg output when i fight bosses, but i can still get suprised by running into some new opponents while i am low on health. |

Optional, as most have said thus far, because we don't need to know exactly how many points lvl 1 mobs have left. But it might be useful for comparing skills/builds.

its more exciting for me to guess the health rather than seeing the actual numerical value call me old school but this more interesting to play

I agree with haveing to guess is way more fun and exciting, at least on new mobs...so maybe make an option to see numerical values but monsters have a ?/? until you have killed a few. or if you really wanted to go crazy you could build it based on YOUR CHARACTER'S knowlege of the monsters' health. say you kill a little squirrel in 1 hit with a 10 damage strike, so the next squirrel you see will show <10 or something, becoming more accurate as you kill more, this could apply to monster weaknesses/resistances as well. but that would probably be way overkill in action RPG =D
