Pale Council was kind enough to drop me a bow yesterday, which then 5linked in just 10 fuses. I was thinking of rolling a Deadeye for the free chain and run a pure damage support Ice Shot (IS - PTL - WED - PPAD - Inc. crit strikes). How much am I hurting my clear speed by not using a Chain gem?

Great guid for the build! I just started playing this game, and followed this build to level 53 yesterday. Couple of newbie questions:

1:) How can i have both Hatred and grace. (Each mana reservation is 50)

2:) Ice Golem and Vaal Haste. If I can only link one of it with IC and CWDT. Which one is better? If I link Vall Haste with IC, how frequent it can be triggered?

3:) If I am not having any gear or skill with frenzy, does frenzy passive points like Frenetic worth to click?

4:) How does WED works? For example, if the blast rain has 5000 physical damage and 5000 fire damage, does WED only apply to the fire part or all of them? For blast rain, which one is better, WED or AF?

Thank You SO MUCH I just found your build post wish I could have found it 3 years ago but now is good I really like how through you are with the build post an many times say the why of things which makes it more clear I have played melee almost exclusive those 3 years but remembered playing Ranger and with the clutter in the quests an lightening strike is blocked by about everything an the clutter wont let you Ice Crash SO Thanks ALOT :)))
I have been playing this build in the Prophecy League and now have what I believe will be my endgame bow - a Lioneye's Glare. Since "hits can't be evaded" should I alter my skills to avoid evasion and lean more on more life or armor?

1. No way you can have them both-too op, but you can take a herald instead. Tohether they will consume 75% of your mana. With good mana regen and leech 25% of remaining mana is enough
2. a)Ice golem is good to help you killing packs of mobs. Since Vaal haste needs lots of killed mobs to be charged it's pretty usefull on boss fights.
b)Don't see any sense in linking IG or VH with IC or CWDT. Not sure if they will work together, but summoning IG each time you get certain amount of damage is meaningless. Same with VH- you will get a random VH activation when you charged it. You want to use VH in the moment of need and not randomly.
If you want survivability here is recipe from me: Find good Daressos Defiance armor-it generates Endurance charges on kill and generally boost your surv with hp,dodge,hp leech and evasion. This armor will work fine with FW(frostwall)+IC+CWDT+increased duration. As the result you get hit->received IC buff, a wall between you and monster that hit you hard, time to recover, life saved,mommy happy.
3. If you aren't planning to use Frenzy charges then you can skip Frenzy nods in the tree. I recommend you not skipping them and use Frenzy charges anyway.
Good ways imho to generate Frenzy are The Blood Dance boots(no hard requirements) and Blood rage(requires good movement speed and hp leech to stay alive)
4.For example i have 89-364 fire damage without WED socketed. If i socket it back i will get 143-584. WED gives 10% increased elemental damage with weapon and 58% more weapon elemental damage. Now do your calculations.
