Noticed something with the build, probably something I have done but im using a 317pdps decimation bow.


PTL says it converts 50% of physical dmg to lightning but with that gem on LA is pure lightning dmg with the little bit of cold dmg from my bow according to my tooltip. It seems right since with blood rage on I just can't seem to leech life to counter the life drain except for using flasks since all the leech I have is physical dmg to leech so i have resolved to using frenzy for charges before using blast rain for bosses/strong rares.

Just wondering if PTL is supposed to work like that and if this is working as intended.

what should i use instead?

Blood Rage gives you only physical damage leeched.
Your attack skill and your leech tool simply don't really match with each other. There are few ways to fix this stuff:

1.If you really like LA and P2L- you must take 2-3 nodes on tree (they gives leeching any damage as life)
2. If you don't want to get leech from somewhere else - use SA instead of LA or one of: Added fire or Inc Crit damage supports instead of P2L support gem(or both SA and AF for best performance).

It'd be nice to see your chars in profile, open them if you don't mind, or post full eq and passive tree.
I may be wrong about details, I was on break from PoE for few months. These 2 above are not only solutions, too, just examples.

You shouldn't have more mana/hp refill problems anymore. Check your resources (eq laying around, orbs, respect points) and pick the way that's most comfy for you.


P.S. As for charges and generating them, I solved my stuff (similar to yours) with this utility skill once:


Pros- easy generating, hex-proof-proof.
cons- takes your slot for 2nd skill away, so you need to have 1 actual combat skill for both single and aoe.
That's example for fun, not even advice :)

If your're going to just use it, it's awesome (family of) bow(s). Everything physical enough works great- SA(from p2l to added fire or even pure phys), LA, TS, u name it. If you wanna sell it, tho, you are late about 6 months.

I will ott a little- they are even pretty damn good for ele rangers atm. I loved this one
I changed it to selffound non-legacy Windripped just because mf. I'm still not sure if that was good idea, tbh. People long ago used to say that these bows are 2 slow for ele builds, but that's not an issue anymore I think.

It's like a suit- sometimes more popular, sometimes less, but never really off. It's too good simply, so there is no reason to get bitter.

So is this build (page 1) really outdated?

and if it is no longer viable beyond lets say t3 maps or so ;)

Why would that be expired? Neverwrite rarely answers but there are many folks who keep this guide alive.
Tbh there are even kind of duels with arguments about "ranger in modern poe" in general. So if u wanna keep in touch with anything that shoots bow this is the best place (and it's such for a long time already)
