The whole build is based around making Arc as expensive as possible. And it's in general good to try and get your gems to lvl 21, especially Arc. Okay, so vaal skill gems work as follows: You have a vaal skill, which costs souls that you collect by killing monsters. Once you have enough souls for that vaal skill, you can cast it and it usually has a pretty powerfull effect. You still get the normal skill, which follows the normal rules for that skill. So, you can still use the gem, but you do not have to use the vaal arc skill it gives you. (Although there's not really a downside to it either imo.) Hi, in your leveling guide at Act 3 you say to link light penetration and Archmage to Arc, but then at Act 4 you say to link Spell Echo to Arc too, so... I should replace which gem?
