[3.0]PewPewPews Official Cheap Firestorm Build - Perfect for Newcomers/SSF

Hello guys. Sorry for... well not responding myself for quite a time haha. While there were some things going on(health issues, also been moving house)none were really justifying my absence in this topic. I've been having a hell of a time playing around with many different classes in AoW. So.. Sorry for that :x

First off: I've been planning to do another rewrite of the guide. Mostly for clarity, but also to specify it even more into newer players. There are a few things I really need to clarify(noteworthy the gems, where and how to get them), I should just really get to it haha(also, thanks for all the feedback, it's really helpful :) ). I was planning more things, like a big video guide, a big write up bla bla. But honestly I just don't have the dedication to really go through with big projects like that nowadays(sorry :(). So I'm just gonna keep it with the guide. Simple and... well less big. Hah!

Second: My youtube account has been hacked. While all my old video's remain and the account doesn't seem to post anything, I simply don't have access to it as matters are. I've tried to get it back several ways, but as it is now, it seems google is not cooperative enough to let me back onto the account. So anything posted after this date, or messages from that account are not mine. I can just hope the vids stay online, and the account remains inactive for the rest of it's lifetime, but eh. If I'll make a new account, I'll try to reupload all my current content to that one(let's hope I won't have to fight copyright claims. That would be... well. Awkward.). But for now. Well. Just don't bother messaging that account or leaving anything behind on my video's. Won't see them.

Welp. For now, I'll (globally :( )answer the questions you've asked. Again, sorry for the delay >.<

For all the resistance/life survivability questions: As long as you are capped on merciless(75/75/75), and have a decent life pool(~4K @ level 80), you should be able to survive most bosses. The trick is to abuse your minions. Minions are all nice and good when it comes to normal mobs, but usually, they won't really make that much of a difference, as normal mobs usually melt really fast. Bosses however, don't always. And they often have high dps to boot. That's when zombies make the most difference. But only when you play it properly. Here are a few golden tips: Stay at range, keep your zombies between you and the boss. Move in between casts, this way you will have an easier way to kite, and dodge AoE effects. Try to have at least three zombies up, if you can not, just your golems and a skeleton totem works great as well. Especially versus high AoE Bosses zombies can die rather quick(Plaza boss is a good example). If you let everything die, and resummon nothing in return, the bosses will stick to you. And since you don't have proper defences, like high block, or insane leech, facetanking bosses is never a good idea.

As for weapons: Besides the rare weapons, There are two weapons I recommend: Cybil's Paw, for the insane sustain it gives, and The Scourge, for the insane damage output it gives. The PLedge of Hands is also a very solid option, but only if you have it 6 linked(or 5 linked if you can't get your hands on a proper non tabula 6link). The Consuming Dark is a decent weapon, so is the divinarius, but I would put them lower on my list. They are often too expensive for what they do in this build :)

As for the curses: Warlords mark isn't completely necessary, but makes everything easier to play, no constant mana flask presses. For example, it's perfectly possible to run no regen + no leech maps on this build. It is just annoying to play! But since Firestorm is duration based, it's easily doable without any source of leech. Just cast one or twice, and by the time you have to cast again, you got the mana you lost back by just the regen :)

As for Iron Will: Possible, but it requires gear. Loads of it. I'd also probably go with the chieftain ascendancy then, for the 10% extra strenght, and get a completely different pathing while I'm at it hah. Perhaps throw in a few Brawn jewels, to get that 1500 strenght going :D But it's not beginner friendly, so I'll exclude that option from this guide :)

Also, if you were still wondering: it should be fine Anithera. If you just build the rest of the points, you'll only have to refund two points total to get to this current tree :)

Again, sorry for the absence! Should try to be more active :)

Hi :) I´m still pretty new at this stuff :)

I wanted to ask if I could use Vaal Summon Skeletons instead of the normal one, or is that a bad idea?
In general, I wouldn't go with Vaal Summon Skeletons, as it needs souls to work with. But it can work if you only need it on boss fights. All depends on your playstyle I suppose ;)

Hi, First off great guide. I've leveled to 69 and find the build fun & easy to level. I'm pretty new to the game so am still struggling to understand all the mechanics. Per your leveling guide, "The few Aura nodes are enough to let us run Anger and Herald of Thunder without running too low on mana." So, I'm at around 85p/4ap on the leveling tree. I have the aura nodes and am just starting on the curse nodes. But whenever I try running HoT and Anger together, I don't have enough mana for Anger. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for posting the build.
You most likely linked a support gem to Anger or Herald of Thunder(besides the Curse on Hit). Make sure your Anger node isn't linked to Faster Casting, INcreased Area of Effect, Concentrated effect or anything like that = those support gems will increase the mana costs, even from aura's ;)

If that's not the case, make your character tab public, I can take a look for you :)

Strange, you should be able to have both up at the same time. How much reservation does Anger cost, and how much does your Herald of Thunder cost?

My total mana pool is 797. Anger at L16 is reserving 343 mana and leaves me with 454.
HoT at L17 is reserving 176 mana and leaves me with 621.
When they are both active, 519 mana is reserved, leaving 278. I can have both up and still have mana left.
But, when I hover my mouse cursor over Anger in bottom right, I get a popup that says [Not enough mana]. This is not the case when I hover over HoT.
However, the Anger icon is present in the upper left, and I can see the red ring around my toon which tells me it's active. I still have plenty of mana left. Is the aura is active and working even though the popup says there isn't enough mana, or am I misinterpreting what the popup means?
I understand it now :)
Don't worry, everything is working as they should! This is just something silly that's in the game.

Because you have only 278 mana remaining, you can not "activate" anger, since you need an additional 343 mana. That is why it's giving the error 'Not enough mana'. But you are already running Anger. The only thing it's saying is: If you could run Anger twice, you won't have the mana costs. Since Herald of Thunder only cost 176 mana, it doesn't show that same message. Because if you could run it twice, you would be able to.

But since we can not run the same aura multiple times, we can completely ignore that little error :)

So don't worry, as long as you see Anger and Herald of Thunder in the top left corner of your screen, everything is working as intended :)

Excellent! Now that I know Anger works, I'm running it with HoT and already seeing a nice boost in damage. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this with me :)
