Mechanical Questions Thread

Hi,
can you explain me what means "Recover" for the new crusade suffixe ?
The mod says "Recover #% of energy shield on kill" but kills do absolutly nothing. I play Icicle mines if it can help.

Thanks for your reply :)

"Recover" in this context means your energy shield would be healed by a percent of its maximum value whenever you killed something, but your traps, mines, or totems don't count as you for this purpose, so the mod won't work for your build.

Do you have any proof links? I mean its not "absolute reduction" as i know. According to 3.9 patch notes it relates to monster's armour. So it can be % of monster's armour -> % damage increase will be different and depends on armour/damage ratio.
I don't have proof, but this fits with how GGG uses language in other contexts. If you have 30% fire resistance and equip an item that gives -20% to fire resistance, your fire resistance becomes 10%, not 24%. If the wording was "Enemies have 15% Reduced Total Physical Damage Reduction against your hits", it would be a relative reduction.

Y but here is the problem. Monsters doesn't have physical resistance. It is armour. So it have to work different. Probably. Bcs... Why does they have amour then? Why not phys res as u say.
Only devs can say out the truth.

I have a question about the life leech mechanics:

I want to run a slayer build with overleech but I have 100% damage conversion to fire.

Most of the leech nodes are physical attack damage leeched. However there are several sources for attack damage leeched, Vitality Void and the two nodes leading to it (0,4+0,4+0,8=1,6) plus the nodes leading tu Brutal Fervour also give 2*0,2.

Now I am unsure if it is poosible to achieve serious overleech. You would lead Gladiato's Perserverance and Hermatophagy anyways to raise the Maximum Total Recovery per second. But will the actual life leeches be strong enough to reach that cap?

Yes. Hit harder.
I played Brutal Fervour Slayer with Vitality Void + Vaal Pact and tested overleech with Blood Rage some time ago. Things didnt change as i aware.
I ran map and then pressed Blood Rage while having no phys damage reduction. Blood Rage makes you degenerating 4% of max life. Vaal Pact = no Life Regen.
So... I was starting to degen after about 25 secs (~2.5 Blood Rages duration).
Sooo... I think you can stack up about 100% of your life as overleech. With Vaal Pact only you have more then 40% life recovery from leech per second and it works pretty much like life regeneration. 40%+ life regen is pretty good.
But you have to hit things.
Didn't notice any problems with stacking leech up.

Let's say you have a 200k single target DPS. With 2% leech its 4k HP leech stack per second. With 8k hp you will be fully healed in 2 secs. The good.
During map clear numbers a much bigger bcs u hits lots of enemies.
I would be ok with Vaal Pact + Vitality Void.

Is the new "Strike Skills target 1 additional nearby Enemy" available on hunter influenced gloves tagged as an attack modifier?
Could I block attack mods with the meta craft and still hit it?
poedb.tw says it isn't but I want to be sure before I burn ~4ex trying to slam it.

Thanks

The question was more, if dealing only elemental melee damage is a major issue and would screw up your leech.

Vaal Pact + Vitality Void + Any Attack damage = i think no

You can always anoint amulet with Hematophagy for confidence

Hi, I would like to know if " % chance to deal double damage while FOCUS" works with totems. I thought player share his/her skill and buff with totems and that focus is a skill buff that should be shared with totems. I tested myself but it was difficult to tell if that mod works with totems. Thanks.

Armour (numerical) grants Physical Damage Reduction from Hits based on the Armour value relative to the Hit damage. The -% to PDR modifier reduces that PDR.

Totems use your modifiers when dealing damage, so the mod will work just fine. Your Totems can't use Focus themselves, nor have the Focused effect on them, but when you're Focused, the Double Damage mod will apply to you, and hence to your totems as well.
Ok i fucked up with Overleech. Maybe it was too far ago. Maybe i just retarded or was drunk. Looks like overleech dosnt stack up anyhow. It jsut doesnt remove from you at max life and just keeps recovering you untill leech is depleted.
Tnx to TyrantAdro for tip.

I have a question about minions and poison, as I understand it if a minion poisons and enemy and that enemy dies from that poison specifically the kill counts for the player so on kill bonuses work for the player. If I am using chains of command and my animate guardian animates a weapon which does poison damage and an enemy dies from that poison, does the kill still count for the player or the AG?
