Mechanical Questions Thread

My instinct tells me the same thing, and it would make sense but I read that only your life matters. Totem uses the skill as YOU would use it, so it would check your life.

To answer my own questions:

Looks like your life matters, since totems attack as you were attacking and therefore the support checks against your life.

Hey Mark,

I think this is the correct place for this question, as I haven't found any answers anywhere else nor do i have the answer myself.

Is there any mechanic in the game, or possibly combinations of mechanics that would allow me to stop my DoT damage from killing enemies, or limits the conditions under which this damage type can kill enemies? I am creating a build that will be decent, fun to play, and pretty strong. But if there was any way to stop DoT damage from killing enemies in the way that Southbond only lets you kill enemies with 'hits' when they are frozen...it would make this build amazing and it's something Iv'e always wanted to do.

TLDR: IS there any way to make it so that only my 'hits' can kill enemies? Even if only under certain circumstances?

Thanks,
There is no need to repeat your question; there's a large backlog of questions.
Dear GGG,

I got 100physical damage and i have "Doomfletch's Prism" equiped. So my autoattacks will deal 100physical + 110lightning + 110fire +110cold damage.
My question:
What happens if i allocate 100% increased physical damage with bows (passive tree)? Do i now deal 200physical + 220lightning + 220fire +220cold damage?

My secound question:
Does the "physical projectile attack damage"-gem increases my damage the same way as in question 1?

Thank you for your fast clearification

Dear GGG,

Is it possible to have both "of Refilling" (% increased flask charges gained) and "of Sipping" (% reduced flask charges used) suffixes on one belt.

Thank you
@ProfBrain:
1. The extra F/C/L Damage is 'based on Physical', and thus will benefit from Increased Physical Damage. It'll be additive with other sources of Increased/Reduced Damage, as per the norm.
This Elemental damage is Damage dealt 'with Bows'.
Those are the only two conditions on the modifier, and both conditions are met. The modifier applies.

2. Yes. Ele Damage is based on Physical, is Projectile Damage, is Attack Damage.
Only difference being that PPAD is More Damage, of course :) Pretty solid.

Will 10% less damage from Spell Echo propagate to the SRS damage? In other words if unsupported SRS has 50 dmg per hit; with the spell echo I will summon skulls faster, and their damage will be 50 or 45 per hit?

Yes. Minions take modifiers on the Skill (ie. from Supports and the Gem itself). Being a generic Damage modifier, it applies to all Damage dealt.
These are a series of question that if possible i would like every one answered

1)How does extractor mentis' mod "Recover 1% of Maximum Life on Kill" work?

2)Is the life recovered instant or follows some mechanic? Please explain if that recovery is in "x seconds" or what. In short what recover means.

3)Whats the interaction with Zealot's Oath ?

4)If i have 8k max life, and i kill 10mobs at the same time, is that effectively like recovering 10% of life ?(1%x10 instances of recover)

5)a)If on the same character (8k max life) i currently am at maximum and i proc the recovery does it remain on my character or it doesnt apply. Meaning that if i proc the 1% and after i get hit for 500dmg going to 7.5k will that recover continue? b) Do nullifer nemesis mod nulify that effect? 5a and 5b might be a redudant inquiry depending how question number 2 is answered

Thanks in advance.

1. Exactly as it says it does. Kill a thing, gain 1% of Max Life as recovery.
2. Instant.
3. Zealot's Oath explicitly only applies to Regeneration.
4. It's not effectively, it's literally recovering 10% of max Life. 10 * 1 = 10% after all.
5. It doesn't stick around, no.
