[outdated] King of the Forest (Crit version)
So the thing I like about this build is that there is a bunch of different ways to overcome problems both with the tree and gem setups, went from using vuln to warlords mark for endurance charges + leech (trying to get rid of the two points in tree) didn't work, also thinking of possibly dropping the proj proj jewel for int int jewel to help the int problem a bit. Was also toying around with an enlighten and 2 50% auras alot of cool stuff you can do.
Although I must say I'm not a super big fan of Devoto's but the helm is just personal preference tbh. I'd say jewelry is probably my next upgrade I worked on them a bit today but no luck with essences Last edited by Headroller#0483 on Dec 17, 2016, 9:13:20 AM

okay, i might sound like a moron here but how do you gain extra projectile? i dont see any thing from your gear, jewel, tree that grant you extra projectile

I have a choice to get snakebite gloves with vulnerability on hit, extra arrow on drillneck and reach of the council. But why do you say reach is the priority #1 when you say yourself that Death opus might be a better choice with all that crit multi and better base crit? To me free vulnerability on hit seems like a way better boost than switching to a bow like Reach. Care to explain?

" oh true, that was the old explanation before i was aware of opus. so the vuln on hit are definetely the last thing you should buy, until then you can just use a CoH setup. extra arrow drillneck is a nice boost for aoe and single target. reach over opus is mainly a QoL upgrade - more arrows for LA, faster attackspeed and in general faster feeling (at least for me) but single target is about similar. Loving the build. After all this time playing PoE I just did Uber Lab for the first time and guess what, I got a +2 Barrage Devoto on my first try :D in BSC.
Anyway, my question: I want to try the CoH with Vuln. setup instead of CWDT Immortal Call. Since Vuln. needs lots of INT, I wanted to ask what you guys think is the sweet spot? My Vuln. is level 13 now. (Also is CoH with Elemental Weakness something to consider?) |

I don't agree with this Frenzy/Curse on Hit setup, especially not if you use Temp Chains.
Snakebite with Temp Chain on Hit costs 1ex or less. I got mine with quality, links, and the right socket colors for 45c. The only thing the Frenzy/Curse on Hit setup offers is a higher level and higher curse effect Temp Chain, but that honestly doesn't matter that much - there's no damage benefit (the "debuff stretch" is a static 40% across as levels, all you gain is a larger slow), and since you only use it against bosses which have a huge resistance to curses (60% or 75% I don't remember), you won't really notice a big difference I believe. It seems like you're simply overlooking how cheap the Temp Chains corruption is. You get to keep your CWDT and apply the curse while clearing, which is imo just flat out better. It's VERY noticeable on anything but bosses, it's like Chill (if you also get a bit of cold damage in your LA you actually trivialize any kind of clearing and breaches). Finally finished my ascendancies at level 86. I had been doing maps in the tier 6-7 range and decided to try some tougher stuff.
First I went after Atziri. Did it deathless although it felt like my dps on her wasn't super good. Took 3-4 mirror spawns before I killed her. Then I went after some breachlords. Xoph was pretty easy although I did die once right before he did. Esh I finished deathless. Tul on the other hand... yikes...I only got him down about halfway before all of his totem things were spawned plus a full spawn of his adds. After I died the first time I then got insta gibbed about 4 times in a row trying to get back in. Never did damage him much more so ended up failing him with him still at about half life. Don't have enough shards for either of the other two yet. As far as upgrades go, I am not the type of player who ever manages to make more than about 3-4 exalt in one league, so I think next I need to see about getting some chaos damage on jewelry. Hopefully I can save up enough for a +1 drillneck. Only ever had one 6 link and that was about 2 years ago so I cannot count on that. Here is my equipment currently:

Umm Baldrick i think the drillneck ruins your damage cause it converts your phys into fire damage which reduces the damage of the poison and initial hit
