[3.8] Arly's Ice shot bower

This build looks amazing, just wanted to ask about general leveling.
How I should progress the tree, for example should I ignore those 3 Projectile damage nodes when starting as level 1? and about the lightning arrow should I use it as soon as it comes available?

Thanks in advance :) and happy new year!

There is a tree progression guide in the main post.

You can use LA or split arrow to level with, you should not really have issues progressing with basically any random bow based skill gem. I personally used LA + blast rain until around level 70.

I assume your using mana leech on a jewel or something? as you dont have any on the passive tree atm , of course i can get a mana leech node but is a jewel with mana leech roll what your using?
At first, awesome build and thanks for it - it´s really very fast clearing maps.

So yesterday i got the Dropluck for the Shroud and transformed from a Tornadoshot build with QotF into this one. As i am impressed with killspeed, i feel i am missing something in Terms of survivability.

I really struggle to survive an easy Boss like the one from Summit (he oneshots me nearly oO), or even some Abyss Holes, spawning some monsters for me getting me killed quiet fast, just in T12 map.

Feels really different from a QotF Player. What am i missing here, is it just that i Need to get more life or is there something i oversee in my playstyle now?

Some help would be great..!

A single mana leech node is taken near ranger. I have updated the passive tree in the main post. Good catch.

You need to get a high life roll on gear slots as well as on jewels. Evasion will face the issue of dying when your rng fails and it does nothing vs spells. Are you saying you were you were having an easy time with the summit boss with Qotf?

I don't see any value in the abyssal helm and you should probably have a chinsol offhand if you want to quickly kill bosses which is the better route than trying to out sustain their incoming damage with a bow build.

Anyone can link another Bow options? if i dont wanna use chin sol , a rare harbinger is better? idk if the 100% at close range make the difference and makes chin sol better. other question.

Pathfinder is better or not?

thanks .

Yes, my old build did not felt THAT squishy, but all in all i think i have to readapt - it´s a new playstyle even if it´s not looking as that in first place :)

Thanks for the other tips on gearing - the Windripper was from my old build now considering to switch it out.

As for the helmet using atm for testing Body armor synergy - actually im quiet broke so i can not afford an +Barrage helmet - should i just go the rare helmet route for Def-Stats anyway?

One with life and resists and or int will give you a substantial amount more survive. You don't really need a 6 link chinsol. Any random one will do as a barrage switch if you intend to use WR.

Honestly, based on your description I think you are much better suited for the QoTF variant if it afforded that much more defensive capability. In the end, optimal build bows are really just cookie cutter images of each other with the main difference being what chest they use.

Belly for raw hp
Lightless for dps
Qoft for movespeed and evasion

Okay, big thanks - i will see what i can get and how to get around :)

And i think i want to adapt - since i like the different, for me more difficult, approach. QotF compares to it like a bit more "lazy" in terms of avoiding damage and learn boss mechanics. In the end i feel it will be rewarding speed- and funwise.
