Regen is completely different than Recharge. Regen happens all the time, recharge only happens once you have stopped taken damage. It sounds to me that your es pool/regen/fire res isn't high enough because you should not be relying at all on recharge - it's nice, but we do not focus on it at all in this build.

I would never do this build ES without a shavs. I am a life build right now level 70 in LHC and I couldn't even dream of going ES unless I had at least a 5L shavs.

I've played PoE since the closed beta, and so far I think this is probably the most fun / strong character I've had in that history and I'm pretty proud of it. Thanks Ahfack :)
I was toying with a guardian build for a while ever since the ascendency came out but never came around to it as I couldn't figure it out. This build...I might use it for future leagues too!

This is what I've got so far:

Did uber lab over 12 times, no good enchant so far for boots :(


Now my biggest question, am I ready to swap RotF out for an ES shield while able to sustain RF?

It makes me very happy to see feedback like this! Glad you enjoy it too. I never thought I'd have a caster that I enjoyed _ALMOST_ as much as my 2H Melee guy, but this build is just too fun.

You're tree is spot-on, and your gear looks good enough for entry-level. I think you're ready!!! Get as much ES/spell dmg as you can affordably get on the shield and be sure to get 20rdot on it, and I think you're good to go. If you can't find any solid 400es-ish spell dmg shields that are affordable just get a 400es-ish one without spell damage and upgrade later. You want to make sure you are comfortable running this first.

If you still feel kind of uncomfortable you can try using a high lvl Stone Golem and get a little bit more Regen since you are low-life already and can't use a Marble Amulet.

Both rings need to be replaced, they need to have es/life either int or fire dmg suffix, and a prefix free for ES% craft - BOTH rings.

Tons of amazingly cheap shit to look through, again make sure it has a free prefix for 20%es, very important.

That belt, you gotta get a crystal belt no doubt about it, bless it as close to 80implicit as youc an get. You want your belt to have es/life, and then your res/str/int

Good day today! Hit lvl 74, got a Marble Amulet, bought myself upgrades in the 1-8c range each and got a really solid setup for leveling a bit more.

Level 74, I'm at just over 4k life. I can sustain RF! At level 75 I grabbed Harrier, and the next 10 nodes will all be live nodes until lvl 85.

Your build is very interesting. I used to play in many funny-to-play(in my opinion) builds (Sire of Shards totems, king of the forest, LW Ice nova, flicker, pentagolems, SRS and much more), but this is very solid and sustainable. For me it's 2 new mechanics - SR and RF.
In case of lack of experience on RF, could you explain some of:

1) Could we use Rapid decoy with RF? Seems like RF has the same count in the view of damage type as SR.
2) As I understand, Fire damage is good for SR and RF both. What about burning damage? I saw you have passive nodes with it
3) I'm in the process of leveling in LSC, so my Enlightments is in the looooong process of leveling. If we switched-off Purity of Ice/Lightning is it enough to have only two lvl3 Enlightment?
4) Is Bastion ascendancy is necessary after obtaining eye/presence of Chayla?
5) I don't think that I will have so much luck to successfully Vall Empower in templeague, what you could propose as 6th gem for SR?
