Worked on Act IV today, making it to where Dialla blows herself up firing the Rapture cannon.

And that also makes the first time my ranger died (to Daresso). And as stated about a week ago, I'm playing softcore now until I make it all the way to Act 10, just to see the whole story and experience all the endgame stuff. Otherwise in HC I probably would be dead long before I even get halfway there, assuming I'd actually get up the cajones to progress in the story. This game isn't exactly Diablo 3!

But for tomorrow, just keep going on the questline, like usual. And here's the records I played this session:

I moved along a little bit in Act IV and got as far as unlocking The Harvest waypoint. And the Piety battle that went way smoother than other times:

After this, I decided to go ahead and do a Labyrinth run and got a damn good unique out of it (as well as a metric ton of mats as well!):



The Izaro fights also went way smoother than last time (I even got 2 treasure keys out of it!) I guess it also helps that I outlevel the stuff by almost 10 levels though. :\

So, for next session, probably try to close out Act IV and/or do another Labyrinth run.

Finished off Act IV today. A real nailbiter of a boss (only fought it once, and didn't look up the fight beforehand as a refresher. Needless to say I was a nervous wreck)! Fortunately I beat it, and am now in Act V (the part where you have to kill High Templar Avarius).

After that I tried running The Labyrinth, but my computer restarted about 2/3 of the way through, ruining the run as well as my stream vid (and aahhhh yes, another reason I only play Standard now)! (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

EDIT: I found out you can download your own stream vids straight from Twitch. I am saved!

And so tomorrow, my work week starts up again, so I probably won't be doing much. I'll probably also farm around in Act V a while until I can get my resistances to at least 105%, since apparently once you complete Act V your resistances drop 30% afterwards. Good to know.

This is a "supplemental" blog post. Last night when streaming my computer suddenly restarted.



So all my progress in The Labyrinth - about two-thirds of the way there - went kaput. So I figured on trying to do a "make-up" run this time, which went extremely well.







I kinda wish this happened when I was actually streaming so other people could see this, but it is what it is. But anyway, thanks for reading/watching. ;]

Kind of a bad session, I guess. Worked on Act V and fought Avarius and defeated him,. . . . after many attempts. . . . kinda embarrassing. Of course, had I been playing Hardcore I'd have been dead a long time ago, and not being able to progress in the storyline at all, so there's that as well.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll either work on the story up until just before the Kitava fight, or try to do a Labyrinth run. My work week has started, so it'll be one or the other.

Continued working on Act V, eventually getting to where I have to kill Kitava. But until I can get ~105% resistances I'm probably going to keep farming around, probably just do Labyrinth runs since they seem to be the most consistent.

I've also decided - not a decision I made lightly - that if any of my hardcore characters die, should I decide to actually play them, I'm just simply moving them to Standard, and not deleting them immediately like I've been doing. If for no other reason than that I really don't want to have to start all the way over in Act I again for the umpteenth time, that's all.

Oh, and I also did a Labyrinth run this session. Got a silver chest that actually had better drops than the 2 Izaro chests I got (unset ring was vendored. I need more resists, not less):

Good god what a long Labyrinth! Going the wrong way, traps galore, definitely not a fun one. Found some decent drops though! :]





Otherwise, I just ran around and killed stuff, as well as finding where you fight Kitava, for future reference. Just basically doing busy work. And it looks like it'll be more of the same tomorrow.

Worked on my SSF HC duelist this time, defeating the 3 mini-bosses before the last Act IV boss, Malachai.

And I also did all the Trials of Ascendancy as well as running The Labyrinth on him as well. And in one of my most wetodid window-licking moments I forgot to pick an ascendancy for him, thinking I'm still on my ranger (we have pretty much the same setup, Viper Strike and Frost Blades etc.). Force of habit, my haste making waste. Well I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow...

Ran The Labyrinth on my duelist, and this time I remembered to pick an ascendancy class, which is:



I kinda like the fortify buff, especially considering that, on the passive tree, I'm pretty close to a fortify node cluster right now.



I also defeated Malachai as well to close out Act IV, and am now starting up act V, and will probably work on that next time I stream.

Goood session today. Made some headway on my duelist, and got as far in Act V to the Chamber of Innocence (the area just before Avarius). And I also did a Laby run as well on him.

Then, I decided to pull my marauder out of the mothballs and started working on him. I ran The Labyrinth on him, and on him too I progressed in Act V enough to unlock the Chamber of Innocence waypoint. Avarius is on the horizon.

And for his ascendancy (and YAAAAY! I remembered to choose one, and not just grab my loot and make a beeline for the exit like I did a couple days ago on my duelist) I went ahead and chose:



I had to make a tough call on where to spend the points though, since a). he's slow as hell and could use the extra movement speed, and b). I'm a sucker for life regen. Eventually the life regen node (Unbreakable) won out, since I use Quicksilver Flasks and Onslaught gems.

And so, for tomorrow, It'll probably be a coin toss between my duelist and my marauder, probably doing a Laby run or two. If I do try to fight Avarius it'll be on my duelist since he moves faster. My marauder will struggle with all the AoE and bullet hell attacks since he's so slow. Gotta figure something out with him.
