Oni-Goroshi in Current League - are You gonna farm it or drop it?
Farming one since I can't leave Lioneye's Watch without crashing. Hope bugs get sorted out till I get one but I'm holding my breath.

Wahoo, last night after only 4 runs (2 on my scion) 1 on each of my witches. Uber spawned on my scion and dropped the 90% crit! What sucks is I wanted to use the sword so i could level up and start playing so i had to enter the town on my scion which appears to be the best character for farming. I was using witches last league to get my 9 and the fight seemed much easier on the scion since i moved so fast.
Anyways, finally i can start playing and now i gotta create another farming guy. You can't just have 1 Oni, need more!
Got mine last night, at 2h50 played on that particular character. Was running 3 Scions, all of them had hit 8. Overall about 8h30 player across all characters.
It's not the finest roll (74%) but I'm quite happy with it :) Loving the voice lines so far. Last edited by Valman on Mar 12, 2019, 10:38:52 AM

You both got some good rng there, GZ.
^ Last night, my guild leader and friend mea prompted a screenie. That xp bar is partway through l 7. Filling up the bar slowly, it's like going to 92 on red maps, but not like that at all. So much simpler. Thought you might find this amusing, Charan. I was thinking to understatedly post the actual sword when it happens, but that little exchange happened and the grind is the story, just as much. After popping in this thread on and off over the past couple of years, yes, I am doing it. I understand exactly what "Level 9 beach Club" means now and hope I don't join it. If I do, bring me a double capirosca in a coconut spectral cabana boys, as I sink into the surf, and lace it with opium. I've been chipping away at this the last few days on and off as I felt like doing something meditative and that I hadn't in the game before. It's an exercise in patience, for sure, and while I'll be glad to finally enter town at some point in the next week, I'm enjoying it. Leveling to seven was the deceptively easy part, just like on a long walk where you're all full of energy. "Oh this isn't so bad...!". Now I'm in the thick of it all. It's such a grind, holy shit Charan. I figure though, the grind of maps is the same. So, smelling the seaweed. Been listening to talking books, some good, some not so good, and music. The game looks even more beautiful with the update, especially the water physics. The twilit beach is apt for running over and over, it's like pre-dawn not twilight and it's so muted. I'm going to need character shades for the rest of Act one, I'm so used to the gentle blue dim light. So far, nothing great but these ever-useful and nice levelling wands which of course ID scrolls would be a waste on. It's funny to see day two (when I started) le toucan spam die down and be running along the beach yet again while "GET_DOWN is the first character..." messages scroll by. That it's SSF makes all the caring about being behind drop away of course, because I don't care if a 2 c flask today is worth 3 ex in a month. That's a good feeling. Think I'll make a shadow when I do get the sword, and continue to chip away at this league in super causal mode. And yeah, I ran back for the scroll :) Last edited by erdelyii on Mar 12, 2019, 7:25:07 PM

" Yes, decisions, decisions. At my peak OG farming insanity I farmed out all 4 OGs on my Incursion 4 farmer rotation. 1 @ 7.25, 2nd @ upper level 7, 3rd mid level 8, and the final 4th coming on the very last weekend of the league at just over level 9 (yes, another Twilight Strand Level 9 Beach Club member). So now I have another 3 exiles in the OG beach grind rotation, all are above level 7.2 now so UH could come out and play any time now. Betrayal League has really sworn me off of going beyond 1 Oni-Goroshi. I got the 1st @ 7.3 but the 2nd was an agonizingly tortuous grind past level 9 again so no more will I go for more than 1. Those days of insanity to the max are over. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

" Good to know. One will be enough for me.
Wow, Chris said in the Baeclast podcast that they're playing around with the idea of a "durability" stat on gear. So the more a sword is used the slower it gets (the attacks per second slows down) until the exile goes back to town and gets to a vendor that can clean it back up and sharpen it to maximum performance again.
But this is just stealing a page from the Diablo playbook. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

That's exactly what I thought, Charsi. No thank you. That, along with arrows and bolts, no thank you.
" Charan. I know. I am doing both. I know you'd like me to be unable to put it down, gripped from start to end; as a writer I would want that and you're being extremely patient. It's just I've got a lot on my mind and occupying me these past few weeks and now, which sounds lame to you but if you knew (which you won't), you'd understand. As a writer, all sensitive and out there with your creation, to you of course I sound like I'm making excuses. I am, but it's genuine. I have a way of processing things that might seem like I'm stuffing around, posting away when there's serious business afoot, but don't mind that. I guess I'm a bit like Dory, just keep swimming ... " See, it'll go together nicely. I'll get there, with both. " That's great, It's not because I don't 'know' -- it's because I haven't had to check to see whether or not I know yet. Of course. All the talk of divine inspiration, intuition, unconscious, muses, and such down the ages, of course that makes perfect sense. Level 8 is the norm? Good thing I have some fresh and beautiful tunes to play. TIL day today, so might be lucky with it, then again, more likely to be a few days more of chopping up zombies. I love the way some of them arch up like gymnasts, it's so elaborate and graceful only to be EK'd apart in a matter of moments. Last edited by erdelyii on Mar 12, 2019, 9:07:42 PM

" No you didn't, at all. I'm glad you did. Ah, tone. Infuse mine with equanimity and humour, please :) It's not a bad time I'm having, either. Goodness, no. Oh, see, no. Not EK. Spectral Throw. ST. Today is Friday, it's snowing here in Carnac, and I'm making a pinata filled with greek pastries for dinner. See? All good.
Dropped just a little into level 8. All 4 scions are now about 15% into 8 and I'm getting used to just being in TS. Maybe I'll keep going until I have 4 OG's. Or until the girls all hit level 9. Or I just get tired and delete POE, lol. There's something about farming this thing though. So stupid it's funny. At least it seems that way when I have some booze in me :) Mini-game, that's it... Has anyone actually hit level 10 in Twilight Strand? Might be a kind of twisted goal to shoot for. |
