I also tried to start the league with it. Im trying to make it work but it is very slow and im not sure if its a bug or what but if you have an enemy in melee range and you use the skill on it, all the projectiles will hit it EVEN THOUGH THE ENEMY IS ALREADY DEAD. It's extra annoying if you have lmp or gmp linked with it.

Not gonna lie, its really bad, I always play totems and tried my 1st incursion in my 50s couldn't even kill a rare before timer ran out :(
Easy peasy with arc/frostbolt/AW using 2 totems in comparison, not sure what to play now, since I am sick of Heiro/MoM every dam league lol |

Pierce + Fork is very bad because pierce is always first. For Arctic Breath GMP + 1 pierce from tree/gem is enough since you want to focus on ground DoT, not explosion dmg. DoT ground from Arctic Breath does stack, so GMP is very good, also DoT from multiple totems can stack (Bex said it can stack up to 10 ground areas)
