Help a dude with a Divine Ire Totems build

Hey!

I haven't had the time to really deep dive into all the changes to the passive tree and new skill gems and all, that's why I'm asking for some input on here. A quick search didn't find anything Divine Ire Totems related, yet, sorry if I still missed anything already posted, though.

So! With all the new channeling nodes, staff nodes, shield nodes and everything I'm a little bit at a loss regarding my skill tree. I don't even know what Ascendancy to choose. Hierophant or Ascendant are the obvious choices here, but maybe I'm missing a hidden gem...

What I want is a life MoM Totem build. Probably crit, because of the accessability of crit chance/multi for Totem builds, especially in the top left area of the skill tree.

So far I've made 2 skill trees - one for Hiero and one for Ascendant, but I skipped all the weapon related nodes, just because I am not really sure what route to go. The staff nodes are really tempting, though.

(They're actually both included in each pastebin, you can switch the trees on the bottom of the screen in your PoB)

EDIT: Ignore the mistake in the Templar ele wheel. Should be the lightning/phys node and not the fire/phys node. I was confused about Divine Ire damage types.

Try using incinerate as a placeholder skill, it gains stage every 0.2 seconds. Divine Ire 0.22 seconds and have 20 stages. So without any cast speed increase it will fire once every 4.4 sec. So some serious cast speed stacking is need for totems to work especially with the 30% penalty for totems. Good luck trying!

I'm actually also gonna give divine ire totems a stab in the dark. Skill tree isn't a massive issue atm since its kind of hard to mess up. We can tune it later for more BiS passive nodes, but the general layout you have is actually not bad. Changes can be made when more information is brought into the circle. Cast speed should be pretty nice since it will let us charge up to max stages and then discharge the beam followed by the same process. Skill gem combos, and gear are more of the mystery as far as I can tell right now.

So, i played a little bit and what i can say Divine Ire Totems are insane.

With crappy gear i nearly one shot white maps Bosses and the clear speed is still very good.

For this build you have to stack up cast speed like the old Pizzastick Totems.
So, Onslaught, Arcane Surge and Lightning Golem is a must have imho.
Hatred as an Aura for shatterfun.

PoB doesn't work with Divine Ire i think, cast speed make no difference in PoB.

Thanks for the replies! I've ended up doing something similar to what XpeterschmidtX linked and am pretty happy with it skill tree wise. Since I got to maps yesterday (yeah, I know, I'm slow) I'm now thinking about gem links - which I'm usually not too worried about while leveling.

So what do you guys suggest as utility links? Since I'm not using a 2h weapon I have two 3L. Guess I'll use one for Flame Dash, Ele. Weakness and Arcane Surge and the other one for ye olde CWDT setup.

What about the rest though? I have three 4L to fill and since I'm pretty new to the Totem stuffs I don't really know what to fill those with...

Pls halp.

EDIT: I'm playing MoM, so the goal is to get an Essence Worm for Zealotry/Wrath/Hatred for my only mana reservation.

EDIT 2: Also - since someone mentioned cast speed - do you think 2x spell daggers with some crit/spelldamage and crafted cast speed and speccing into the new "Dark Arts" node is the way to go for a caster crit build? I could even go Whirling Blades with Fortify that way.

You can check my profile, I am playing Divine Ire totems Hiero.
I am playing pure fire build, so I am using avatar of fire and various phys to fire nodes: Divine Ire has 50% phys damage converted to lightning, so rest of phys damage is converted to fire and 50% of lightning damage is also converted to fire. There are a lot of fire damage nodes near Templar so it's pretty easy to stack fire damage.
I use Soul Mantle for 7-L. Links are: Divine Ire->Added Fire Damage(huge damage boost)->Infused Channeling->Controlled Destruction->Elemental Focus->Faster Casting/Fire Penetration/Combustion/Multiple Totems(needs more testing).
Auras: Herald of Ash and Zealotry(in Essence Worm). Damage is better than if you remove Zealotry and use Clear Mind jewel.
Please note that Divine Ire is Lightning skill so increases in fire skill casting speed doesn't work with it.

I am playing one right now level 81 and still can't decide between divine ire and storm burst. Both seems to benefit from the same tree. Storm burst is smoother in clearing while divine ire is significantly better in boss killing.
