[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

I am going to be relying on some help with that ridiculous atlas tree :)

I feel like I am going to want to go in every possible direction and will not end up with anything close to pathing that is efficient. :)

After the tree is released I would love to hear your guys thoughts. It will take me forever to get the voidstones but I clear maps like no ones business so I expect to have lots and lots of tree points to spend :)
There is some good news and bad news for the elementalist build:

In the reveal and patch notes we learned that the +1 amulets should be much easier to craft and there for much cheaper to buy.

The amulets will be both cheaper and more abundant because you no longer need to have an influenced amulet to get the mods. The +1 to Fire, +1 to Int etc type mods are now all in the regular mod pool.

However, according to the vid I just watched, getting a double +1 mod on a single amulet is likely to be MUCH more difficult than before because you can no longer use an awakener orb and as such the cost of the double +1 mod amulet is going to be more expensive than in previous leagues.

I wanted to discuss a niche item I saw in the patch notes and get some opinions:

===============
Problem:
Recouping Life from damage taken has too few locations to invest in the mechanic, with items only giving the mechanic on Unique items.

Solution:
Introduce ring modifiers that cause a percentage of the damage you take from hits to be recouped as life over the 4 seconds following the hit.

Specifics:
Added four tiers of the new modifier to the core modifier pool for Rings, that causes a percentage of the damage you take to be recouped as life.
The highest tier version of this modifier that can be obtained on Rings is: "13-15% of Damage taken Recouped as Life"

I saw this and remembered our talk about a rare weapon. If we get this mod on a ring and then boost it with a catalyst, this would effectively be an interesting replacement for life leech on the cerberus limb...

Thoughts?

I don't think it's a good fit for this build. It only works for hits so unless it's a chaos hit, the hit would have to deplete your ES before it hits your life. If you are that low just hit a panicked life flask. Life leech can counter against poison and chaos dots.

Puppy is right IMO. The recovery would be a fine replacement the majority of the time, but if it's DOT we are facing it won't do anything for us.

We need leech instead of recoup so unless one of the new implicit mods we can get on our gloves is spell or elemental life leech I think we are staying with Cerberus Limb on the crit versions.

The Elementalist version could replace it though since amulets can roll fire damage leeched as life.
Now I'm thinking some more. Is the leech even that important for the new Inquisitor version? We are stacking a bunch of life regen to be able to use RF. Shouldn't that regen be enough to keep our life topped up?

Edit: Old elementalist version from first page had a combined ~1,025 life recovery from regen and leech combined. New Inquisitor is ~950 just for regen.

Another edit: forgot about the 900es we lose by dropping Cerberus. I think it has to stay. It's just too good to replace especially considering it only costs 2c.

I agree with all your thoughts. Thank you!
I didn't hear anything in the reveal about skill tree changes and don't see anything in patch notes. That mean it's staying as is this league?

They mentioned a couple of small things about the tree I think.

Sometimes the numbers changes are so small they don't mention it even in patch notes and we find out later when tree is released.

The tree is already available though in case you want to look at it. Poe Planner has it ready now and I assume POB will follow fairly soon.

I looked into replacing it before and it's just too good for this build. Not only the ES but the massive cast speed which is a huge contributor to this build's DPS. Maybe with this patch's buff to cast speed we an evaluate again, but with everything (ES, cast speed, leech) in a single package it's hard to replace.

This morning I was thinking if Aegis Aurora will be more popular. It's basically the only way you can do self cast. I even have it in my totem build because I just don't like dying :P
