RF is not chaos damage, so all the degen goes to ES before it goes to life. So when you're just sustaining life, it means that the RF degen is already consuming all of your ES regen as well.

RF does this:
You Burn for 90% of your Maximum Life per second as Fire Damage
You Burn for 70% of your Maximum Energy Shield per second as Fire Damage

I think what he is saying is that both burns go to ES at the same time. But once your ES drains, only the life burn goes to life.

So since the ES gets both sets of burn, it needs higher max res to sustain....

Both burns go to both. I think it's because ES regen (not recharge) is not interrupted by damage. So at 0 energy shield it is still "regenerating" and offsetting the damage before it goes to life.

how is the guardian version doing this league? thinking of tring that due to my starter build getting trucked lol, is it more tanky than the other 2 versions?

I have not seen anyone post about it yet but yes it is the tankiest of the 3 versions of this build (all 3 are tanky to be honest).

There is a table near the top of the first post that can help you determine the difference between the 3 versions to fit your style and needs.

I have moved into red maps. I still die once in a while (every few maps) but it feels good enough to camp here for a while to see if I can grind out the shield before moving up to the later red maps.

so 80 fire res is still not enough, to turn rf on, lev 20 vitality with arrogance as well, not sure what else to do for it.

I used 83 Fire res last league to run RF. Looks like you can get 83 fire res as well once you swap to a +3 leadership price.

i dont understand that amulet, like how it works with attributes equal and cannot ignite. i switched to a rep atziris ammy for the moment, which allows me to use rf barely for now anyway.

Leadership Price offers massive power if you balance the two stats, which is fairly easy.

Brittle: Gives us instant 100% Crit chance for a MASSIVE dps boost. It is not recommended to run a crit version of the build with out this amulet.

SAP: Gives us a very strong defensive layer

Scorch: Gives us a nice dps boost

got one and rf is working, i just need a bit more regen to make it a little more comfortable, and you were right the damage boost was very nice ty for replies
