The Future of Stash Tabs

"
Existing Tabs are being updated as much as possible with new slots for items that should go in them. As I mentioned at ExileCon, we don't want to add a second Currency Tab.

Haha, so funny I forgot to laugh.
"Tab Folders"

Neat. Taking notes from Last Epoch, I see. Anything else you want to try and salvage with ideas from other developers that seem to care more about their community these days than you have lately?

I look forward to the "[Removed by Support]"
Oh, and just because it says "Chris" at the bottom of a post doesn't mean you need to put on your best ass kissing lipstick. Sycophants drowning sensible criticism for which GGG is due for this nonsense is part of the problem.
The problem is this tabs are selling well and I'm happy for you, GGG.

But for me, enough is enough. I have currency, essence, fragment, premium, map tabs. Wtf would I need more?

Do you really care? Doesn't seem like it.

Really.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. I've been thinking about this even more lately, especially after someone said they weren't sure why Scarabs are in the fragments tab.

So, to me, currency is any item used to modify another item. This makes oils, delirium orbs, catalysts, and similar items currency.

Fragments are anything, or their constituent parts, other than a map you put in the map device. So simulacrum splinters and the simulacrum are fragments.

Maps are well, maps. So blighted maps go in the maps tab.

Anything else could reasonably go in a new tab, such as the Metamorph body parts.

This is why I don't mind fossils being in their own tab. Sure, I would categorize the resonators as currency but the fossils are not and having them in the same tab makes sense. Divination cards are another great example of an item that deserves its own tab.

Essences are currency and really should be part of the currency tab, but because there are so many and it seemed an exception to the rule of currency going into the currency tab... well, I sort of didn't care. Shame on me on that one I guess.

But now we're at the point where new league = new tab if there's a decent amount of stuff, or new league = tough shit if there isn't. For example, Incursion vials, Breach blessings, Betrayal enhanced breachstones. Those should be in currency, currency, and fragments respectively.

The idea is one of trust and holding GGG to the expectations they've set. This is why anytime anyone has ever suggested they bring back old packs I've felt confident it won't happen, because they said it won't. (And on that one I still believe that.)

Not updating existing tabs to hold stuff that they should hold violates that trust. It could cost $0.01 per tab or $10.

I obviously have no problem paying money for this game, I do have a problem paying for these tabs.

Sensible criticism that is well reasoned and thoughtfully phrased? I'm surprised this wasn't [Removed by Support].

Extremely well said.

Part of the problem is they are dishonestly claiming to meet the standard that they themselves set almost a decade ago. F2P, ethical gaming, MTX is cosmetic only. Okay, great. *Sees stash tabs* "What about those?" "Those are pay for convenience." This is the dumbest specious excuse I can imagine. Anyone with even 2 functioning neurons can see through that wax paper veil.

Setting aside Loot Boxes (which is itself a huge issue), this is a farce. The fact that you just can't be honest with it, admit the mistake in a simple albeit honest fashion, and move forward is what is most infuriating because many of us had high hopes but they're fading and fading fast.

I've been around since Jan. 2013 and have spent more on this game than any other game I've ever played, ever (hundreds of dollars in... you guessed it, stash tabs!) and finally broke and bought a supporter pack. The fact that I have to spend even more to get these is ridiculous. I've spent more than 99% of players and some have spent many times more than I have. Of course I can't speak for all of them but this is certainly not what I imagined GGG would devolve into when I first invested in this game.

I have hope that you'll change, but I'm not holding my breath.
Thank you for letting us know.
As I mentioned before in a comment, customising our inventories is an amazing quality of life feature in a game.
The changes sound good, now what is left is to just spread the rest of the content in the existing stash tabs and not create any more new ones.
Good job, keep us posted.
Stay awhile... and listen.
Less league stash tabs, more league-storages in hideout like you did with Harvest. That was a pretty damn good idea, the dev that came up with it should be praised.

As for stash folders. NO thank you. This just HIDES the problem, instead of solving it!

Quality of life would be, in a single word, "Terraria" (THE inventory management system POE needs to implement)

Summary:
- 1st, a "stack all" button where you literally dump all of your inventory into the proper tab which already has the exact same item stacks in the stash somewhere.. with a single click.

- 2nd, a "dump all" button which will dump ALL remaining items that are not already found in the stash, into a designated "dump tab(s)".. with a single click!

- 3rd, this would also need to include a "lock" feature, so you could select certain items in inventory to NOT be dumped into stash when you select the "stash/dump all" buttons. (such as wisdom and portal scrolls.. or the next map you intend to run)

---
Last, to expanding upon that system that Terraria uses, to make POE inventory management the best it can be -

The Affinity system mentioned in the original post could absolutely further expand on Terraria's inventory management.

By that i mean you flag every "non-stackable" item type into a groups, such as described. but not just random league items. Gear also. Things such as flasks, boots, skill gems, etc. There is no limit to this Affinity concept. Simply give us an optional "check box" accompanied by simply adding one of something into a tab and then = that tab becomes designated for that item TYPE (boot for example).

Yes. Add three buttons next to inventory: stack all, stash all and ignore/unignore to specify squares to ignore. The ignored squares would be highlighted, darkened or something.

Want to hear a horrendous idea? Add loot filters to stash tabs to specify what to deposit. Horrendous because you would have to update the filters between leagues. :D
@Chris Please add auto pick up and auto upload to right stash tab features!

Nobody will read this, so I will just tell the truth.

GGG is a business. Tabs make them the most money. They make new tabs, they make money.

Bunch of low-intelligence humans over-reacting to what is obvious, and necessary.

That said, I have tried very very hard not to buy anything since the previous sale to a giant, morally questionable, huge, did I mention it's a big-ass company, for-profit conglomerate. I want to buy new packs every time they come out. I used to buy at least one $500 pack per year and haven't bought anything since the TC sale. It's sooooo hard, trying to stick to my guns, but I also love the humans that make this game.

Can you guys buy it back?

Feels like a lot of planned content and microtransaction releases, since the sale, have been controversial. These releases and mts have all been under the thumb of TC. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the correlation.

Can we buy it back? Is that an option? Can we start a fund for that? I'm not chardenjademar (worst community member) who can donate 30k, but I'll throw in a couple grand.

Love the people, not the new direction.
