It is clear GGG are basing their decisions on streamers. I've done 100s if not 1000s of maps this league, and I still haven't got anywhere near perfect rolls yet, the augment mods are not common unless your trade for them.
Its also interesting that by and large, most people want the crafting to stay, but also that the mechanic itself wasn't good.
Those that like the crafting are generally being fairly respectful, the few that don't want the crafting seem to be fairly toxic, and actively enjoying the fact it won't be staying. You do know you don't have to be douchebags don't you? Its fine that you don't enjoy the crafting and don't want it, its also fine that you can be happy with GGGs decision, but to actively gloat and pleasure your little e-peens at the cost of others is pathetic.
It is clear the majority of these people are probably the 4+ hour a day players, that play so much they are able to acquire vast amount of currency to blow on the casino crafting of old, to get that 1 item that sells for 100Ex, that was costing 5Ex this league. They are just being selfish as they don't want to lose their stranglehold over the league economy. The comment above about finding gear and tweaking it by crafting is really flawed. Tweaking cannot be done in the old gambling crafting, other than annulment gambling that runs the high risk of bricking your item, or aug slamming that picks from such a wide pool of mods, is unlikely to give you what you want. The crafting bench has been weakened since the multimod change. The rest of the crafting, essence, fossils, etc all reforge items.
Also I see a few comments from these people saying they'd rather find their gear. This is hilarious, the rng drops in this game are the worst I've ever seen. Ignoring during the levelling process, I've never come across a random drop that improves my gear.
So much THIS.
I´m sure you both have not a lot of crafting experience so you can´t understand someone who is trying to risk a lot for the "100 ex item". So you never tried it probably and you never will. I already did few times and i still had a lot of fun crafting also i never managed to reach my fully goal with an item. Still got a decent result in the end. But you are acting like these 100 ex items are something for the casual players. GG gear items are expensive for a reason: They are such a power creep you should not reach easilier that it es pre-harvest. Also you don´t need these items at all to play the game. If this is your way how you see PoE then it´s your problem but being able to target craft by removing fire mods for example is even if you don´t understand it too powerful. This is not an offensive comment its just you don´t understand the core problem besides you can finally craft on your own with no knowledge. Why reward the players, who don´t wanna invest their time like others did to learn how this game works?

Very well written.
I can only agree with what you are saying.
I believe I've mentioned it before, but streamers only hold the influence they do because we watch their streams. If no one is watching POE streams, then no one will stream POE.

Well that's just like... your opinion man.
The problem isn't that it's too easy. You could just not use this crafting method and keep using the old one you prefer, if it's really only about making the game too easy for you. Problem solved.
The problem isn't that it's too easy for your OWN gameplay, it's that it's "too easy" for those other plebeians to also enable such levels that were previously exclusive to you top guys.
It's all about being butthurt that your e-peen is no longer infinitely longer than other players'.
But consider this: Even IF these items become more accessible to worse players they will still take magnitudes longer to get them than the top guys, so the elite will still be miles ahead of everyone.
So what's the harm?
Please don't use economy as your only reason.
Trading in this game is seriously broken and you KNOW it.

When we designed Harvest, we wanted to experiment with a more deterministic crafting system that would enable players to access powerful items earlier in their character progression. In this sense, we feel that the crafting system has been very successful. However, at the top end of gameplay, Harvest has made it too easy to gain very powerful items that previously required a lot more work and investment to acquire. This was acceptable for a temporary challenge league but poses problems for the long-term health of Path of Exile's item economy if allowed to remain in its current state.
It's just very sad. For the first time in a long time, I've been enjoying playing PoE - a lot. For me, as someone who doesn't care about the top end, crafting in PoE felt right for the very first time. Before, crafting was just a thing that I didn't do, because it is economically unviable - the "right" way to get your items is to farm currency and buy them. With Harvest crafting, I could make my own items, and it felt awesome.
I know you care a lot about the "top end", but even those people seem to have found lots of stuff they could do during this league, and found content too hard for them (check Empyrian's video on the 4 million+ lifeforce for example). So why do you balance around that, rather than the majority of your players?
Or just split the game, and make some kind of "casual league" for people who just want to enjoy the game.
I was about to buy a 60$ pack, but then I realized Harvest would likely not go core, and I would be sad afterwards. Good thing I held out, it would have been wasted money. Maybe I will get my character juiced before the end of the league and then play standard, but I am not sure... right now, I am just very disappointed that something that felt like it was exactly the right thing to have to allow me to make progress in the game gear-wise is now again removed from the game.

True, but then again, they also boost the popularity of the game, which is good for the game.
But last time I watched Baeclast I realized how useless it is... a bunch of streamers discussing with Chris Wilson. Not a single person in the cast who actually plays this game for fun, and not for a living.

You told me like 3 times "then just don´t do the mechanic, problem solved". And i will say it again: No the problem is not solved with that. People who have the same skill level will everytime beat others when they do everything a game has to offer. And i don´t wanna do that harvest stuff and reach op gear in no time. It´s just not right and will also be boring + bad for poe in long term.
Next point i have no problems with the mentioned "plebeians" get easier better gear since they will still stuck in red maps and bosses. So idc about these they will not reach a top player lvl only having good gear. We would still be a mile ahead. I invested a lot of time to understand this game building own builds upgrading my gear; there is no way people who don´t care about that should be rewarded with easy gear. And looks like you are one of these.
And idc about the economy at all SSF player here never mentioned the economy you just turned that in before so i kept the 100 ex item example. You don´t wanna learn to play the game then don´t do it but then don´t complain about huge gaps, which like already mentioned will still be there in a worse way with Harvest as core mechanic.
Harvest is and will be unhealthy for Path of Exile. And there is nothing unexperienced player can say to deny that.

Harvest mechanism caused to end league early. Too many people did amazing own crafts and play everything else early. And too many players have quit already.

Are you even listening to yourself? What exactly are you arguing?
I'll say as I understood you, and you can correct me if I got anything wrong:

But if you all have access to the same things, then it's fair, isn't it?
That means the skill-factor can make the difference, isn't that how it should be instead of RNG luck?
"it's just not right" -> You keep saying that. Why not? Because you don't like it? This is not a good argument to make. It's not an argument at all, in fact, just an opinionated statement.
"
Next point i have no problems with the mentioned "plebeians" get easier better gear since they will still stuck in red maps and bosses. So idc about these they will not reach a top player lvl only having good gear. We would still be a mile ahead.
Ok so your point here is you're not an elitist who wants to keep newbies away from the good stuff? As you don't care when bad players get easier access to good gear because top players will still be miles ahead? Agreed.
"
there is no way people who don´t care about that should be rewarded with easy gear.
If as you said just one sentence earlier you don't care about bad players having easier access to gear, then why exactly does it bother you suddenly when they "easily" get that gear?
Easily is a very very subjective term here too, what's easy to you top guys will take a noob weeks or months. That's not universally easy, just from your elitist point of view. I hope you understand this.
"
And idc about the economy at all SSF player here never mentioned the economy you just turned that in before so i kept the 100 ex item example.
Okay, so you don't care about the economy and trading, fair enough.
But if you are SSF then that even more makes me question why it's such a problem for you if noobs get better gear easier without having to buy everything and without shit-tons of RNG gamble. Those other players don't affect you at all, why do you care about how hard it is for them to get gear?
Have you played in a trade league recently? Trading in this game is a nightmare. Maybe that was part of what drove you to SSF. If deterministic crafting could reduce the need to trade, isn't that a good thing?
I genuinely, honestly don't get it.
From the sounds of it, deterministic crafting shouldn't be in the game because YOU don't like it?
Again, if that's your opinion, fair enough.
But stop acting like your perspective is the one and only way to have and to play this game.
If you kept up with this thread at all you have seen that tons of people disagree with you, that they want deterministic crafting.
Their input is just as valid as yours.
