Some thoughts on the Fellshrine Ruins
I just played through the Fellshrine Ruins again today with my Ranger, and I remembered reading this thread earlier so I thought I'd pay closer attention to the area detail. For me personally, I think the Ruins look amazing right now. While there is not a full giant graveyard like the OP mentioned, there are a few smaller grave sites that I think are awesome. I'm also happy that the ground isn't just flat through the whole map, but rather there are nice little hills and valleys that really add to the overall aesthetic. I also like the little bugs on the ground, I noticed those in other areas also (note that when you zoom in, they don't look so awesome, but they get the job done).
I do think having some fog would be very nice, and not just for this area alone. My only real complaint about the Ruins was how easy it is, which is not really pertinent to this topic. But having more/stronger enemies like the OP mentioned would help out some with the overall atmosphere. Overall I was just really impressed with how broken down and old the ruins looked. However the attention to detail found in Fellshire Ruins can be found in most of the areas now. I think Act 2 looks a lot better than it did before 0.9.9 (maybe it's just me?), especially the jungle/forest areas. And the caves/dungeons look pretty gnarly as well, I've noticed some dripping water effects and some glowy wisp like things that are just really cool. So overall great job Russell and everyone at GGG, easily the best $10 I've ever spent, and I'll be upgrading my support come next paycheck. I do hope the engine gets some tech upgrades for better water effects and such, but even as is the game is awesome. :) |

Wow nice ideas there Dust7.
And I must say I like fellshrine as it is atm , but could do with more variety... Also the game engine is pretty capable of things, just one question : Cant you add more detailed textures to weapons and overall equipment to the characters, with the new zoom feature it would look so great... |

Strong rain could be even better then fog in felshrine ruins with lighting effect from the beach , some strong thunder and howling wind sounds and animations ... it makes sense , ground is already muddy and dark zombies and skeletons popping around you have classic horror theme.
Potentially i would like that some parts of the jungle are raining but with lots of sunlight in contrast to feel like rainforest and jungle so it is moist and hot vs felshrine ruins dark and cold windy feel. |

I dislike rain in felshrine.
The entrence isn´t suited for it, going directly from very nice weather in crossroads to rain in Felshrine is too instant. is it possible to make only the last half area of Felshrines rainy or get a timed weatherchange after 5-10minutes ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8
