A lot of players play multiple genres, I would say the majority do. I and many people in my POE Guild pre-purchased CyberPunk as well as many people I know. So yes, I think it will have a pretty sizeable impact on POE at their launch. Not to mention it is one of the most hyped games to come out in a pretty good while, that is not part of an existing franchise. People love fresh games and ideas.

while it's the right decision to delay given in what a bad and buggy state the game is, you give the wrong reasons. spare me the psychological trickery of "hey, we could be ready, but actually *you* (the player) are responsible for the delay (because cyberpunk)". are you kidding me?

and what do i do with this garbage league for another month over the holidays? my motivation and interest for poe will be pretty much zero in january. on second thought... that may actually be good because it seems it's time to move on.

So many people with zero clue. GGG would stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions if they release a day after Cyberpunk does.

Game sites wont have POE NEW LEAGUE as any sizeable news on their front page, it'll be CYBERPUNK!!! with poe new league written in normal size letters at the bottom of the page if at all.

Big name streamers that drop in for a week or 2 like Cohhcarnage, Dansgaming, Itmejp, maybe even Lirik again[hehe], etc wont be streaming poe, they will be streaming Cyberpunk, That alone is thousands of new players that wont be introduced to poe.

GGG/poe are like an ant to something as large as CDPR/Cyberpunk release. Its like trying to advertise your weekend high school football game to compete with the superbowl.

This delay is legitimately because of a major title release and not because the league would not be ready for December?

I can't wait to see the post when Diablo 4 announces its release date - a game that will undoubtedly be a direct competitor.

i also do hope that cyberpunk gets delayed another couple of weeks to see if the reason chris gave is genuine. he'd have to delay 3.13 even further. what a joke.

The amount of knee-jerk TencentGGG apologism in this thread is fucking staggering. And that's coming from someone who all but mastered the art of it back in the day. Back when there was something legitimately worth defending. This? This is unfuckingtenable.

It was a classic own goal by providing an excuse where none was really needed.

People want delays for the next league/expansion. They want increased testing and QA and balance tests. They are perfectly happy to play Flashback in the meantime. And if that delay happens to coincide with the possible release of a big new game, well, that's a nice bonus. That part should have been left unspoken.

I hope synthesis is added to the flashback league

I'm very happy with this, mostly because the December releases for PoE are usually the buggiest. Staff numbers are lower due to the christmas holidays, so when issues come up, there's less people on hand to fix them.

Also because Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be out :p

thinking d4 will be a competitor.... sure its gonna sell 30mil+ copies cause BlIzZaRd and DiAbLo name alone but its sure a heck not gonna be a competitor. BAHAHA
