Upcoming Video Memory Utilisation Improvements

These engine improvements are long overdue. Performance issues are partial reason I lost motivation to play, performance in 3.12, 3.13 and 3.14 was gradually worsening despite "improvements" being rolled out. I hope this will work as intended from the start and makes PoE better for everyone. If it does, I might actually come back for 3.15.
thanks :) i hope it smooth the expierences on lowcost rigs

When you think you've finally fixed it, maybe you should run a couple if t16 burial maps fully juiced with no loot filter.

Then, you'll see part of the problem you're trying to "fix".

Thats the problem, nobody at GGG plays this game, if they do any testing, and I seriously doubt they do, it's not real world testing on different spec machines, different OS, etc. It will just be a basically virtual instance test.

The same kind of test car companies do where they say their cars do 1 million miles on a single tank of fuel, that does not reflect the real world at all.
I wonder what ggg game engine have and should have as an option by 2021 as standard settings in games.
Texture streaming wont fix it all and if they don't apply this properly this can give even worse performance. (That already had place?)
Making everything dynamic in changing quality wont fix everything.

Where is my option for model quality? I could use lower polygons models by default.

Where is my option to change texture quality from high to low? Textures from 2048 to even 512.

Where is my option to reduce particle quality? Dynamic still loads high-quality particles and down scale it. I would like to setup my settings to have low quality particles as default?

Where is my option's like enable QoL features like qroup item drop as one for less clutter?

Does having game in ONE file makes it worse? Like i have 16gb ram and 8 gb of vram but that one whole game file have 33gb+, does my pc have to "unzip it" often? Wouldnt be better to have separate files based on categories?
I have 3gb of cache in poe folder - but... i didn't play for few weeks. Why isn't it cleaned when we exit the game?

My pc: rtx 2080, 16gb ram, ryzen 7 2700x, game is on good ssd (PCIE x8). And game runs poorly anyway.

I would love to play more than 2-4 weeks, but early bugs/exploits and fps/quality problems makes me quit league early.
How much VRAM is considered enough nowadays?
Thank you, GGG. This is literally all we've been asking for. Just keep us in the loop, pleassseeee!

I am sending all the positive vibes and energy to summon this patch without issue <3
Good to hear that improvements are (hopefully) coming. Best of luck to the hard working engine team.

Although it is sad to read that it seems from the get go approach was to go for the least common denominator and everyone with more vram was having a worse experience than they could have. These kinds of things make people think that consoles is holding pc version back, despite your assurance that it isn't.

Not sure why you ask that here.
But if you want to be safe in general gaming, 8GB cards are the one to go for. 4GB will struggle hard in most heavy titles.

If you referring to PoE VRAM usage, no, understood the situation and this article correctly. Currently the game is utilizing very little VRAM, and the intention of this post is to tell us they are working to improve that.
Currently ia'm crashing a dozen times or more a day/night as my comp is 9 years old ! I have a new one coming very soon I hope! Many of the crashes Iam in delve an try shutting down quickly but many times I have died! So iam playing lower level characters as high ones losing 2 bars of experience is just too costly for me. Is there something simple I can do in the mean time to not crash so much?
