i get your point,but when you think about it, there's not much difference between that and sports - i never really saw any amateurs being shown on tv while playing a random tennis match. Only Wimbledon, US open etc, you get the point. Apply to anything else. I guess people want to watch the best players, it's just normal i guess. Would you watch an average, not so good player streaming PoE on twitch? Or any other game for that matter? I actually would :D The whole thing is a bit boring by now - the endless drops, the endless speed and efficiency. While highly impressive, no doubt, it's just always...the same.

I have said this many times on this forum. I've even said that I don't care about the alt art. I don't care about the "theme" for the season, which is where a lot of the work came in. I just want the race seasons. Although I loved the matching ice blue alt art in Winterheart - that was some of the best alt art. Neither the theme nor the art is necessary though.

However, I've realized that realistically, if they brought back full race seasons again, that I would not take part in more than a few races. My desire for race seasons is nostalgia for a time gone by. I know I would never run 2-5 races per day again.

Those days are past. I'm not into the game like that any more. It was fun while it lasted. I know that it's the good memories that I really like. If races were brought back, I think I would end up replacing good memories with meh memories.

As far as the bigger picture, I totally agree that these events are elitist and cater to only a few. This particular event is open for a large number of people. It still feels elitist though.

On top of that, team play is something I will never do again in a game. I did it in the past. But if the only motivation to play hard is a sense of *obligation* to the team, clan, or guild, then it's time for me to get out. I have had games get completely ruined because I felt an obligation to my clannies to contribute more than I was comfortable with. I found myself continuing to play out of obligation, even when I really want to take a break. That is no longer fun. It's a job.

I do not want to feel bad for the team because I take three days to get to Act 5. And they wouldn't want me on the team either. So no, it is not truly a community event. Those of us who have not made it to maps yet in Ultimatum don't belong.

So another event catered to the "priority" streamers. Where are the cash prizes for the little guys that supply private leagues or events for their friends/guilds?

This game has strayed so far away from a team-played game that single-player is almost 100% the only way unless things like this pop up and the majority of us have zero chance.

I've honestly lost so much respect for this company. Stop favoring the top 1% of streamers and start hosting company events that give the little guys a better chance. Without us, this game wouldn't be here.

i dont understand what all the gripe about cash prizes is about with the event being open? its honestly sounds like to me that a bunch of you are whining about not being good enough to compete and not at all about the fact the the prizes are cash..... news flash even if they took the money away and went with micros (which is dumb af if this game wants to grow in this kind of scene at all) theres still going to be players wayyyy better then you racing.
if youre upset that you cant compete with them you need to grow up... im allowed to try out for a nfl team but that doesnt mean i should whine about it when i fail because im competing against the .1%, they earned that spot and their skills if i dont have the time or the skills to compete i just find something else not go whine to the nfl about making events for casual players....

also who the fuck cares what drops some streemer gets (even if streamer rng is real... which it isnt....) why does how many items a random streamer get affect how fun the game is to play for me.... it doesnt at all.... poe still plays the same and ill still get the same rng.... hell id go as far to say i wouldnt use a streamer client even if it was real and offered because games like this get super boring when you get everything handed to you.

i also wonder how ppl got to saying "ggg should host events for casuals". this event is literally hosted by a streamer not ggg... just because they throw some skins in the prize pool doesnt mean its a ggg event... we should be happy they are showcasing community events and adding to the prizes... ggg isnt perfect and they make alot of dumb choices but i fail to see how any of this is their fault... go complain at the .1% streamers about making an event for casuals since they are the ones making the events.

and to the others complaining about speed and efficiency... how long has this game been out. idk if you people have been gamers for a while or not but the trend for LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE MULTIPLAYER GAME where competition is possible is for everything to be min-maxed for speed and efficiency if you dont want to do that you dont have to compete (why do you even want to) it mostly sounds like ppl are complaining about not having a chance for free shit because ppl that are better then them have a reason to grind when the prize is cash... if you arent good enough/ cant put the time in so be it... the world doesnt have to cater to you, either make enough time, git gud, or give up on the dream of being a poe racer and play to have fun?

with all the toxicity towards ggg going on (and honestly a lot of it is deserved) we shouldnt just blame gggfor shit that isnt their fault or just flame them for every little thing... if you care about the game in any way stop bitching about things that dont matter so the things that do are more easily heard and if youre so jaded you cant maybe take a break (you staying around just to spread toxicity is hurting the game more then you stopping playing it would and it would honestly probably be better for your overall health.
