Good news the patch notes have been updated

Character Totem Life has been reduced by approximately 60%. Totems now take 80% less Damage from enemies, but take full Damage from themselves.
The Soul Mantle Unique Body Armour now grants 20-30% increased Totem Life (previously 50%). Existing items can be updated to these new (worse) values with a Divine Orb.
The Torchoak Step Unique Boots now grants 20-30% increased Totem Life (previously 30-50%). It also now has “Totems Reflect 100% of their Maximum Life as Fire Damage to nearby Enemies when Hit” (previously 25%). Existing items can be updated with a Divine Orb.
The Ancestral Might Cluster Jewel Notable no longer grants 20% increased Totem Damage. Instead, it now grants 15% increased Totem Life.
The Ancestral Preservation Cluster Jewel Notable no longer grants 30% increased Totem Life. Instead, it now grants “Totems gain +20% to all Elemental Resistances”, as well as “Totems have 15% additional Physical Damage Reduction” (previously 10%), and “Totems gain +25% to Chaos Resistance” (previously 40%).
Dark Pact now sacrifices 8% of Skeleton’s Life to deal that much Chaos Damage (previously 6%). Now has “40% more Damage with Hits and Ailments if using your Life” at gem level 1 (previously 0%), up to 97% at gem level 20 (previously 76%).

FR totems are dead, no? massive nerf

For people looking at the new juicy totem build, here what I currently recommend for 3.16:

Good old Freezing Pulse totem for map clear.
Creeping Frost totem for single target as a swap OR you can also use it for map clear.

I didn't have a proper setup atm, I just reached 100, finished #20. I'm kind of broke from pushing level.

I still need a Bottled Faith, Awakened GMP, 3-mod Watcher's Eye and maybe Multi Totem in main link (idk about that yet).

Mapping could be better: Multi Totem, AoE Scaling, Explody, Herald, etc..

TLDR: Creeping Frost is way better than Ice Spear as a single target setup for totem build.

It's the same setup, I just swap Freezing Pulse for Creeping Frost and add GMP to the link (not necessary). Make sure to have Rains of Splinters as a Jewel, it's very similar to Ice Spear totem swap.

I hope we get a slight buff somewhere in 3.17 or no nerf. I will probably play this again next league. I don't see the need of a guide for a mere gem swap.

I followed your build for CF but with one change i swaped Multiple totems with increasec critical damage. No idea what is better was that a good change?

Went on a break during Expedition and was thinking of going for it next league.. ofc we don't know what nerfs/buffs await though.
But atm it just got nerfed too hard ?

Check your build on Path of Building and compare FULL DPS, it depend on whatever is your current build. I'm not using Critical Strike Damage Support because I already got 700%+ multiplier.

Build is still fine, but the DPS end up similar to Ice Spear/Creeping Frost Swap on Freezing Pulse totem at high-end investment, and Freezing Pulse just got a way better clear speed. Forbidden Rite is terrible at league start right now.

I ended up with 25-30m Sirus DPS on my Freezing Pulse totem build in 3.16 at level 100 with very good gears. I had theory crafted a Path of Building for Forbidden Rite that was reaching 20-25m Sirus DPS with similar stuff.

Before Manifesto: The build is still decent.
After Manifesto: Alright it's dead.

Well, not really dead, but not worth investing into whatsoever anymore. Just another massive damage lost again and again.

Just hoping that they actually buffed it in the patch notes but didn't show it in the Manifesto (same for Creeping Frost, Ball Lightning and Wave of Conviction).

They straight up killed spell totem variety for no reason.

Freezing Pulse is gonna be fine with Rain of Splinters, Multiple Totem Support. Just even more of a pain to get going. We don't even know how hard it is gonna be to get a Viridi's Veil or an Atziri's Reflection.
