Sacred Orb = quality but more random.

Cool. Every time I looked at quality on an item I always thought "this would be better with some RNG".

Of course there's another currency(or more). Nothing like polluting the drop pool even more. Beyond frustrating for SSF, heck on trade, just more reliance on bots for yet another item.

Another item that won't drop in stacks, another item on the ground, click, click, click, click...
You still have time to take out the Sacred Orb. Please DON'T do this. The idea that the base rolls were unmodifiable was an interesting aspect of gear that just got trivialized.

Adding the Sacred Orb doesn't fix randomized base types.

First off, you bill it to us as extra power, but Armour and Evasion bases are *at best* the same as current bases with the Quality craft you're taking away. ES bases are only better in the upper half of the range.

Second, what will the drop rate of them be? If they're common, then every piece will have max value, and why did you both introducing this change and a currency? It's lots of extra work for you, and lots of fiddliness for players, without accomplishing anything. Just set the values at max and forget about it. OTOH, if they're rare, no one will ever use one on anything but the most expensive bases (think Shaper Titanium Spirit Shield). And that will be *forced* to be true, because of the trade economy. Their value will be determined by 1/11th of the difference in value between a poorly rolled i86 Shaper Titanium Spirit Shield and a max-rolled one. They'll be way too expensive to ever consider using on anything else. Are you hoping for a sweet spot inbetween the two? It's a pretty thin line, I think.

If you absolutely insist on keeping variable base types, do us all a favor, and narrow the range.

Increase all Armour and Evasion bases by 5% flat, and give a range of 0-5.
Increase all ES bases by 15% flat, and give a range of 0-5.

The problem, as introduced in the manifesto: "Items need more heterogeneity, so we're modifying base armour values by 20%." This is interesting design.

This orb: "Every base type will still be perfectly homogeneous." All interest gone.

By allowing players to roll implicits with Divine Orb 1 and super-implicits with Divine Orb 2, you destroy any design space you sought to create.
