Unique Righteous Fire

anyone have any weird/unique ideas on how to play righteous fire? either ones that they've tried or had an idea for, but maybe just didn't know how to make it work that seemed interesting? I would like to something really weird this next league.

This is really weird. And also most certainly bad. But..

Slayer overleech Righteous Fire. Go Slayer, hit something (preferably with a spell since it synergises with RF0 and start leeching. Turn on RF.

I have played a Dark Pact/RF hybrid before, though I did mostly focus on scaling the DP portion. You can for sure get acceptable damage from the RF.
I don't know if spell suppression is going to be nerfed in 3.18, but I'm running a 100% spell suppression Chieftain with Determination and all three Purity auras and it's been ridiculous. Of course, some bosses have taken 10-15 minutes (!) to clear because the build is so defensive. It's not immortal by any means, though what killed me last night was a T16 map with enemies having +50% life, consecrated ground, and 19% chance of beyond monsters. It didn't help that I tried to fight a drought bringer in that mess. I did clear the map though :D

Do a Forbidden Rite recoup RF build. If you get over 100% of damage recouped as life (possible without Stasis Prison because increased life recovery rate scales it multiplicatively), the damage you deal to yourself effectively sustains the degeneration from RF.

The slightly boring version of that would be a ward loop build that soaks up the damage with ward rather than simply recouping all of it.

That is what the Forbidden Rite is for, so that you can recover the life drain from RF with the surplus from the recouped damage. An advantage it has over leech is that it does not require a way to "overleech" because instances of recouped damage are not removed at full life in the first place, and they are not capped either.

Which reminds me, you could use Petrified Blood with this. Since it prevents a portion of the damage (including the part that is lost over time since not all of the prevented hit damage is lost over time), it would not be necessary to recoup over 100% in order to have surplus.

Like I mentioned, Stasis Prison is not necessary, but it would definitely help.
recoup does not work for DOT according to help text.....

Please test the build when you own the Stasis Prison and/or Maw of Conquest first...

If you take damage over time from using Forbidden Rite, make sure to report it as a bug with proper proof so it can be reproduced.
Forbidden Rite part is another thing, which it look like a bug to count this self damage as hit.......

Ward is not eliminated by RF degen.
Recoup as Life (Or mana Depending),
Leap Slam (Warcries can exert for tons of damage) or Frostblink for travel - Can kill most packs. (High weapon damage good)
Discipline for more energy shield (Damage)(Blessing?)
Stack Life, regen, Attack Speed, Leech, AOE DAMAGE (Not area of effect)
Skitterbots Infernal Legion Support
Weapon Enchant - Chance to Blow up corpses
