Oh, serious answer? Wilderun. Galaxy-Brain metal but not in the weird djenty Meshuggah way, or the flibbity-tricksy key signature fuckery of Dream Theater. Just nice complex folk/death layers with the occasional catchy riff. I like a lot of metal, but straight up favourite band? Wilderun.
Close second? The Goth/symphonic metal unit Yousei Teikoku (Fairy Empire/Das Feenreich). They're like Babymetal only not complete and utter shit. Babymetal kind of drip, hot and messy; Yousei Teikoku just plain shred. They also predate Babymetal by 13 years so even 'they're like' is an insult, but a necessary one since people desperately need to know 'what something is like' before they can process it these days.
