Is anyone else having trouble with namelocking this season? Bosses and tanky rares are just breaking my target locking all the time. Hell, the enemy mercs don’t even have a nameplate until several seconds into the fight.

Absolutely Yes when using self-cast staff. It's infuriating. I notice it more when the mercs use a travel skill.

Same...it just doesn't seem to work. Has anyone filed a bug report?

PSA: All of my mercs who were doing just fine before the c patch are now dead, at the same map levels. I didn't bother to rez them as I was collecting gold for Cadiro.

PSA2: Guff in Research at level 2 gave me an amulet and 60 seconds to craft it and then reflect it at the end. I am guessing level 3 gives you a ring...

PSA3: Options/UI: Turn off Currency Quick UI if you're a sloppy clicker. I lost an exalted orb to one of these.

They reverted the mercenary nerfs, should be fine now.
Bound by Destiny: a nice new option, but for high levels. Can't do it with gloves, PoB shows that you lose about ~15% damage without Unnerve and Dmg/Int eldritch mods, only to gain ~13% damage from 15% Inc Int.

Gotta chance the staff if you want a real upgrade. My memories of doing that in the Crucible league are not pleasant. It can easily take 10k chance orbs. Maybe it's not quite as tedious now with the new QoL feature. We'll see.

And then you need a jewel socket for it. The more complete your build is, the less you are going to get from this jewel.

If you don't have Flesh/Flame yet, that's not a problem. If you have it, then use the 2nd socket on the right cluster - if you don't have Rational Doctrine yet (which gives a similar damage bonus). If you already have RD, then you replace Fertile Mind and the bonus damage gets reduced by the loss of Int from that one.
Mercsplosions are real! After they nerfed the 1-shots, I was able to get a lv 83 Infamous Kineticist and give her Obliteration and Gravebind. She's practically immortal in maps, and even with 1 wand the explosions are very nice.

It looks like this is the only Scion (Str/Dex/Int) merc available, so there will be no dual-Obliteration for even more explosions. But this is already very nice.

Now I'm looking for more of this type of merc with hopefully better skills. The one I have casts Elemental Weakness replacing one of my curses with a slightly inferior one. But she doesn't do it consistently enough to let me drop 1 curse - not that it would give me a big benefit anyway. But she also uses a warcry. And somebody said they've seen one that used some aura instead. Anyway, that's just min-maxing.

Gravebind prices have dropped significantly. Obliteration is a 1c unique. Mercsplosions are great. Go get 'em!

Did you guys forget to set "Always Attack Without Moving" on Icestorm and Frostblink?

Namelocking works fine for me. Except for the mercs: at the start of the fight they are untargetable for a few seconds. Not sure of that's a bug or a feature. But namelocking bosses and rares is the same as before.

Another option for this could be the Eternal Struggle Exarch Dominant necklace on the Merc. You'd open up a glove slot and could use Asenath's if you somehow can come up with an extra curse or give up punishment. Can also just use Gravebind there as well but have backup cull, or use an MF option.

Almost assuredly I did. It's been since Crucible since I played I'm sure I forgot.

I got lucky on chancing in crucible but the pain wasn't the number of orbs it was the repetitive chance then scour...I don't think it'll be as bad with the bench option now. But definitely a late, late game idea. Or something you just casually hit the bench every so often.
