A lot of people who excuse PoM either don't know what he actually said or are toxic themselves. He said language that is, since we are not in 1950 anymore, not acceptable when describing people who provide a service that you use. Its not even acceptable use it to describe a person outside of your direct friend-group. It can be considered hate-speech, which is not protected in America, Australia, or other commonwealth countries (that the vast majority of us play from).
PoM has no grounds to fight the ban, not does he have any legal grounds to contest the loss of value to himself, his channel, or his account. Because he used speech that could be used to reasonably make a claim against himself.
Banning PoM was the correct action. And PoM's public response to the banning was the correct response. He will re-assess himself and his language and come back better. I like his videos and await his return.
It's not entirely impossible for GGG to reverse the account ban if PoM exhibits reform for next league. A ban doesn't mean deletion, his MTX and achievements are still there.
I seriously just cant believe people are defending him except in ignorance.
My issue is the lack of consistency.
One of GGG’s favorite streamers told a player - during the go-live a few leagues ago while being paid by GGG (remember 5hat pile of cash) - to go f@ck himself and the doubled down and said to go f@ck his mother. Now, in no work environment that I know of would that be tolerated. So, why no ban or a timeout for him?

Freedom of speech typically applies to government restrictions. GGG is a private company, and probably makes it clear in its ToS what is and isn't acceptable.
As if private companies are above the law^^

These terms are solely valid in the vicincy of services the company provides. If any user uses any words of opinion on their phone, on the table in a bar, on a stage or on his twitch channel, the ToS are not capable of being violated as the action is performed outside the service area.
Sorry bud, being on another platform definitely doesn't protect someone when they are making comments directed at GGG or at a GGG employee. Life isn't a series of encapsulated worlds, behaviour carries consequences across platforms. There is infinite precedence for this, you just really dont know what you are talking about.

Oh, and stating that using swearwords has anything to do with ' hatespeech' is a field of nonsense we better don't enter.
He used a slur. If you don't know this then you are one of those I mentioned who defend him in ignorance.

And the same people who dont like the word he used will have no problem joking about people from the south being toothless sister f&%ckers. Not that I care that people from the south are called that but like you its the inconsistency that kills me.
Continuing to remove words from our vernacular is a dangerous slippery slope. In fact the word in question is said no less than twice a working leg at my job. Its said as a verb so I admit the intent is quite different but its still an auto callout.

Regarding the ToS of a company the world is exactly this. If it wasn't, GGG would ban half of Reddit. You're presenting dude-trust-mes, but simply no facts.
EDIT:
As i mentioned before: the private person Chris Wilson could raise legal steps for being publicly offended. But the company can't rely on their ToS.

The ToS doesn't matter. Just the optics of banning someone in your game for what they said on another platform is terrible. It simply doesn't happen, ever.

You can make all the arguments you want about consistency but that's a separate issue. GGG can choose to ban or not ban whoever they want, that's also part of the ToS.
EDIT: If you are really unclear, read terms 14 and 17 of the Terms of Use
